Hey, I'm glad I could help to jump start your otherwise moribund forum, but my point was, and still is, that if the Kelly fans (and especially the Kelly coach) are going to get on here and brag about every Kelly win, then it is lame to get on here and make excuses (and that's what it was) when you lose. Very simple. Thanks for the props about the FHS girls volleyball, but when they lost in the State Finals (to a Waco team that proved themselves to be the better team), no one from Friendswood got on here or any other forums and made excuses abut it. When the FHS boys soccer team were upset by K7L in last year's playoffs, no one made excuses. When the FHS girls soccer team lost in the State Finals last year, no one made excuses. That, Shark, is how it is done. So, brag all you want about your victories, but be prepared to hear it when you make excuses about your losses. And,one last thing to Shark, both Kelly teams (boys and girls) would get blown off the field by the FHS teams. To the Nederland coach, the point wasn't how SP would interpret what Sharkie said, it was how the readers of this forum would interpret it. But, hey, I understand your desire to defend a fellow coach.

I'll try to catch a game when you guys are at the Klein Showcase. Good luck vs. St. Thomas.

BM, First, I like that spoon phrase -- okay if I use it? Second, until a few weeks ago I never heard of Kelly. That's the truth. My dislike is for their bragging and then making excuses when they lose. And, you know it's worse when done by a coach! Third, Seven Lakes may be relatively new, but they are very good - better than Nederland or Kelly I think most people would say. Surely you do not dispute that? Fourth, Shark tried to imply that Friendswood's coach was somehow dodging him and his mighty squad. You and I know that is not the case (and so does he), but that did not stop him from trying to plant that seed in the minds of the readers of this forum. Frankly, a pretty lame thing for any coach to do. So, my reply point was to point out that if he really wanted to play them, he knew (and knows) where to find them. Fifth, the Friendswood tourney is not the only tourney in which FHS is playing this season -- Shark could have taken his team to the Brenham tourney as well.

To Shark and his boys: You have a good (not great) team, but judging from what I've been reading on here, you are not nearly as good as you think (and desperately want others to believe) and not nearly as good as you could become. You can call it your opinion or anything else that you want (BTW, I love the fact that Broke wrote that Shark "never speaks about his opinion" less than an hour after Shark wrote that it was merely offering his opinion -- please tell me he knows how to read), but the fact is that the VERY FIRST reason that Shark offered for why Kelly's streak ended was that "travel took its toll." That, my friend, is an excuse, and a pretty lame and stupid one at that. And, contrary to what Broke says, most of what you Kelly guys post on here is "smack" about how Kelly is better than the GT public school teams. Finally, Shark, if you REALLY want to play the best teams, then it's easy enough t sign Kelly up for the January tournaments that teams like Friendswood, Brenham, Seven Lakes, etc. go to every year. My guess, however, is that you'd rather not get your butts kicked 3 games and out!

Here's another example of an excuse "travel took its toll" -- suggesting that but for the travel weariness (as if a 2 hour bus ride is grueling anyway) Kelly's streak would not have ended. The fact that your coach is the guy who gets on here making excuses like that only makes it more pathetic. You'd never see the Nederland coach getting on here doing that.

Hey, you got beat! The score was 1-0 and the shots were 14-3. That tells me all I need to know. And, yes your Kelly buddy was trying to make excuses -- to say otherwise would be "ignorant."

No, there will definitely be no basketball glory at FHS this year OrangeFan. Unfortunately, FHS has had a particularly bad girls basketball coach the last six years or so (until this year) who punished the girls for playing other sports. All that she succeeded in doing was driving away the very best basketball players from the awesome class of 08. In fact, of the best 12 basketball players in the Class of 08, only 1 is actually playing for FHS. The girls who are not playing could beat the varsity team by 30 points or so -- without practicing. Had a bunch of those senior girls still been playing, it would be a completely different story. Don't beleive me? Consider this. Dickinson HS went to the state final last year, andis ranked no. 2 in state this year -- all on the strength of their Class of 08. However, thosee DHS girls never once beat -- heck they were never any closer than 14 points -- to the FHS girls who used to play (but no longer play) in the dozen or so school and AAU games that they played against one another over ther years. That's a fact! Good luck Orange Fan.

But, that is how you work I gues.. Posting your little missive at 12 whatever in the morning tells me that you have big time jealousy issues. But, of course, you do -- you live in Bridge City. And, finishing, as the State runner-up does mean coming up short of our goal. So, congratulations to Waco Midway. They were the better team yesterday! And, BC Man, it means that you and everyone else but Waco Midway, hail to the Mighty Mustangs! Hey, and remind me BC (Loser) Man, how did BC do this year? That's what I thought.

The Lady Mustangs take out New Braunfels Canyon (Region IV Champion) 3 games to 1. It is on to the State Championship Final vs. Waco Midway on Saturday!!!!!!

The Lady Mustangs swept Brenham in 3 straight, and very quick, games tonight to win their second straight Region 3-4A Title. That, my good friends from East Texas (and especially Barber's Hill) is how REAL butt-kicking champions take care of business. And, remember, you heard it her, from me, first!

The Galveston County Daily News is reporting that Dickinson HS is self-reporting a UIL violation that will result in the forfeiture of all 7 wins this year.

In many districts, part of the problem is the great disparity in talent between schools. In some districts, in some years, an 11 player all-district team would rightfully be comprised of 9, 10, or 11 of the starters from the district champion. Allowing more numbers on the all-district squads spreads the wealth around so to speak.

Perhaps, I should have said it this way, the District 23-4A teams wanted it, and they went and got it!!! And, my point about BH had to do with all their fans earlier in the year posting about how they were undefeated, how they were kickin butt, and how Friendswood, Santa Fe, and Dickinson had lost to ..... My rebuttal pointing out that BH had not played any strong teams, and how champions are built by playing top flight teams drew howls of protest.

Yes, all that prior chest-thumping on this forum by the BH fans about their allegedly undefeated record made it impossible to claim to be winning with class. So, given the remaining options, I guess you would rather lose with class.

A few weeks ago, some of my critics on this board were gleefully pointing out that Lamar U may have a contingent of former Freindswood HS players, but has not done too well in recent years. Well, hopefully you GT fans are noticing that Lamar is 7-0 in its conference, and has been quietly playing outstanding VB all year. They really could use some of you GT fans to come out and watch them play!
