Imo over the last 15 years the majority of college basketball is more up tempo, full court fast paced, score alot of points, mix of man & zone defenses. With a few teams still playing the slow tempo, half court, low scoring, man to man only defense. NBA is all about up tempo, fast pace, high scoring, not much defense played of any type. Trust me only the players family & die hard Nederland fans that think English is the greatest coach in the history of basketball would buy a ticket to watch Nederland style of basketball played over a team like Bmt. United or Silsbee.

Looks like the award winning successful Mr. Gonzales is doing a fine job for PNGISD, just like Mr. Faircloth is doing a fine job for png athletic dept. Nothing but respect for what Mr. Gonzales has accomplished making png a quality school system, it would be nice if NISD had more leaders half as good.

If that's true, that's a major slap in the face to a top notch head coach who won more then any other coach in PNG football history. Plus hired a baseball coach that won PNG a state title.

If college & pro basketball was played like Nederland & West Brook it would not be very popular.

I believe Joe Dale Cary was 36-31 as head coach at 4A Crandall for 6 years & 4-6 last year as head coach of 4A Hondo, 5 out of 7 years making playoffs, that comes out to a 40-37 record in 4A. Langston went 5-5 last year in his 1st year as Westbrook head coach, no playoffs. Faircloth is 102-51 as PNG head coach & 12 playoff appearances out of 13 years. Love him or hate him the fact is he wins 67% of the games coaching at PNG & goes 2 or more rounds deep into the playoffs like 90% of the time. Renew that mans contract.

If there are administrators & board members wanting Faircloth gone at png, that's one of the the most ignorant decisions ever made in PNG ISD history. That would pretty much top most of the ignorant decisions by the admins. & board members the last 30 years at NISD.

Looks like smart school administrators & school board members. Making deals with the local industry to really benefit the kids with new school facilities.

Hope you are right this year because, Nederland has not been "real" since the Forney thru Weisbrod years. Last several years typical season is, rack up mostly soft pre-district schedule wins vs. lower classification teams, finish 3rd in district, then 1st rd loss in playoffs. Although I give the dogs credit for splitting district games 2 years ago with P.A. to be co-district champs. What is playoff record last 8 years? 1-7.....
