  2. this is one thing I will not argue with a Nederland fan about........the grass over there always seems to look nice. Do you think it'll hold up even w/o any rain? I heard it looked bad after last Thursday.
  3. Hahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!! agreed. I think its a legit question and it doesnt matter to me if the Nederland Bond passes or fails.
  4. I mentioned sort of the same thing on the Ned/Jasper scrimmage thread last week minus the WO-S "theory". Im suprised there were no replies then. IMO theres no way they would have played that scrimmage at Bulldog Stadium if that bond isnt on the horizon. Even Tom Halliburton was talking about Field Turf in the newspaper the next day because of how bad the field held up. Brilliant if it passes, stupid if it doesnt but worth the try I guess.
  5. What was the JV score??? I heard the Indians won easily....but again I wasnt there that early.
  6. normal boring type or game simulation type Nederland and Jasper put on last night? Does anyone know?
  7. you dont really think that was by accident do you? If there wasnt a bond issue w/field turf on the horizon there's no way they play that game there and destroy the field. Just trying to get more votes and I guess I dont blame them.
  8. Cost Escalation to 2015: $118,738,200 Cost Escalation to 2020: $161,437,700 good luck with that.
  9. Don't get me wrong JM, going camping is the in thing now in being recruited for football and will be for the forseeable future. My whole thing with DJ was/is, his stock didn't shoot up on the internet until he changed his verbal from A&M to UT. Just me but those stars didn't popup by his name until he wanted to be a Longhorn but time will tell. I agree, when he switched to UT he became a 5 star recruit, he became a known player by going to camps and combines, not by his play at Nederland. He had a good career at Nederland, and is a fine player but, he would have never got the attention unless he attended some camps. Same goes for Stefan, we all know what the kid has done, can do, and what he can become but, when you play in the area Nederland plays you are restricted as to who sees you unless you go three to four rounds deep in the playoffs. I agree, camps and combines are the future!!! Better go if you want to go to the next level.....Difference with Stefan is he will play for his TEAM first and his future second, he is a Bulldog for now!!!..... no. was/is a 4-star recruit out of Nederland. Going to TEXAS or aTm didnt change that. [Hidden Content]
  10. where are they playing, Lumberton or Dayton, and at what time?
  11. think a repeat of last year.
  12. If Nederland has the same difficulty stopping decent teams as they did last year, Memorial would win hands down.
  13. Read the post !! I know yall are a little distraught because yalls Indian neighbors have the BEST stadium in Southeasttexas , but dont be mad at us..look at it like this..yall had the best scoreboard atleast for one year and now yalls thunder is gone.. man that turf looks good over there..I bet yall can hear the construction going on in the background while yall practice everyday!!! Nederland's bond comes up this winter. Care to compare stadiums now pirate?? bigdog, this isnt intended to be sarcasm but what part of the bond is for the football stadium? Last I heard Nederland originally wanted to build a totally new stadium around the HS, then it was to just totally upgrade the current Bulldog Stadium, the latest talk was a new pressbox and turf. Whats really in the bond and whats not...just curious.
  14. calm down--it is only a hypothetical question---but one loss in two years hmmm............wouldn't that be a fluke? no lie 97..just take a breath. ;D
  15. I agree. If I remember correctly Dayton lost Green the week before the Lumberton game last season and Dugat (not Charles) actually started the game at QB that week. I give Lumberton all the credit in the world for beating Dayton, noone can take that away but IMO if they had played again in the playoffs last year the result would have been very different.
  16. Nederland.
  17. Soulja....you and I agree but the white jerseys w/purple lettering are the road uni's.
  18. could anyone post pics of the either of these two outfits for me (home or road)? it would be appreciated....thx
  19. in 22-4A = LCM and not because they're in bad shape because the stadium is nice but because they are too small.
  20. 150% agree but dont forget about the National Federation of Worldwide Pirates being upset with MLB's "Pirates" and the NFL's "Bucs." Lord knows they really were upset with the old Tampa Bay Orange uni's...the horror. I myself as a Cajun American am very offended by USL's use of the the term "Rajun Cajuns"...what steps do I need to take to get that ball rolling????
  21. using the nickname "Redskins" and having a pic of a redfaced indian on your helmet could be considered offensive, I 100% agree. using the name "Indians" and honoring the traditions of a real Indian tribe and getting the seal of approval from the same Indian tribe is not insulting, its an honor to them. I know you can see the difference and this is why PNG will more than likely never change their name. This is also why teams like Florida State weren't forced to change their mascot while many other NCAA teams were. but to answer the original question, anything should be ok to use. Some people are waaay to easily offended. Thats JMO.
