nelson barnes needs to be fired no way your offense put up over 30 pts  2 weeks in a row an u get beat its time for that guy to get fired
Go to school, get a degree, then see about getting a job at Memorial and see if you can do better.  These guys put in countless number of hours and time away from their family to prepare kids each week to play.  I realize its the job and they know that going in, but for some local yocal like yourself to get on this board and call out someone who has not done wrong by the kids, is unfathomable!! So until you do all of those things that I mentioned at first.....Shut your freakn mouth!!!!!!
 2. usually any shoe or boot repair shop can do it... If it's not too much you can buy some leather and a re-lacing tool from any sporting goods place and do it yourself.
 3.

Jacob Howell from Deweyville will sign with Lamar University today.
Way to go Jacob, awesome young man, well deserved.
Congratulations to Jacob, surely he had more to pick from than Lamar huh? I understand it's close to home and stuff, but with his build and velocity I would think he would have had more offers.
 4. No doubt!!!! Even in spite of the negativity they have had to overcome locally.
 5. Are they both transfering at semester?  Thought Bubba was going to play a major role for LU this spring?  Both are hard working and personable young men.  Always fun to talk to both of them.  Bubba Maxwell was one of the all time oversights during his senior year in HS...Should have been used more!!!  Shows what some people know.  Congrats to both of them.
 6. About 3 years back, I saw this official start out with a rather hefty backside and at the end of the WOS game he barely had any of it left from the chewing he took on it during the game...  ;)...lol. We couldn't play the games with out them.

I don't know how true this is. I think Coach Neece need to get out of that wing t and let those young speedy backs run draw plays and screens out the spread.
Seriously???!!!! You have absolutely no clue do you?

 10. yes, 2 or 3 years ago in district 21-3A i believe....There were co-mvp's if i'm not mistaken....I believe their names were Jacob Felts and Matt Hicks!!!
Well he did something right for the coaches to vote on it. And have you ever seen co-mvp's??
11. They will put the interpretation/judment back on the umpire.  The fake to third and then throw back to first will be illegal. However, if you fake to third but don't turn and throw to first it's still ok, correct? Situation, runners on 1st and 3rd....Pitcher fakes to third with no intention of throwing back to first, but as the pitcher fakes to 3rd the runner takes off.  When seeing that the pitcher has faked to 3rd the runner at 1st stops.  The pitcher hearing the first baseman turns and throws to either 1st or 2nd base...Balk or not?

We would probably play in El Paso before that happens.
That'd be a heck of a bus ride.
13.
Game Rescheduled for Friday April the 20th.......
Ah, going the ole doubleheader route the 2nd time through.....guess it is better than 3 games in 3 days.
 14.
I don't expect this game to be played Wed. night.
Why? weather? District rules say make them up on the next available day, in the order they were cancelled.
 15.
Answer this question.  What would be so bad with letting the sport that is in season work on their sport during the athletic period?  They could still lift.  They would just do it when the HEAD coach of that sport wanted to.  Is that some sort of crime.  I believe that is what most other 3A schools do.
Most? Try a very Large majority....Not hard at all to implement.
 16. It has nothing to do with what happened last year.  Catfever has hit the nail on the head.  You say do what's best for the kids? Why "punish" a kid for being involved in multiple sports? I know for a fact a baseball player this year, missed an offseason workout to attend a golf tournment.  When he got back, he had to make up his offseason workout because he was involved in another sport before he was allowed to play in the baseball game.  How is that doing what's best for the kid? Huck is an outstanding football coach, he has gotten more out of those kids in the last 3 years than anyone else, but do what's right by the kids and let them participate in other sports without the insanity of having to make up an offseason workout. Just my 2 cents and opinion.
 17. OF won 3 this week, 2 in convincing fashion.....probably not a #2...but deinately a top 10..
 18. Coach Trawhon does a good job over at Silsbee.  Some of the outsiders (parents) need to get off his back and let him coach.  He knows what he's doing.
 19. I know the score wasn't what anyone expected, but I think this was a good win for OF for the simple way of how they had to win it.  Jumped out early and then had to have some execution in the bottom of the 7th to win.  The coaching staff got to see some kids in some situations that will pay off starting next Friday.  They finish up the non-district portion of the schedule on Monday at Buna before they travel to WOS on Friday.
 20. I believe so....This will be a good hire for OF. Just talking to inside sources, this was not about football. It was about the entire program, all sports, boys and girls. They wanted an AD first and then a football coach. Someone who believed in the entire athletic program and the energy that will feed from one program to another. I believe Coach Huckaby, having coached at a small school before and having success, will be a good fit for OF.
 21. I was looking through this thread and I found this from earlier in the discussion. This "summary" hits all nails right on the head. Each one of these teams has the potential and possibility of making a run at the post-season, although I have my favorite ;D. The sad thing is this district is so tight that a team could go 0-10 with 8 or 9 one run losses and have nothing to show for it. Each one of the coaches in the district is hard-nosed and will have their respective teams ready to play each night, it will just be a matter of who gets hot at the right time. I'm ready for some baseball and will keep my fingers crossed for my beloved Bobcats 8) Good Luck to all teams this year.
 22. You're right there were some good teams left off the list, but why "hate" on a fellow OC team, if that's not what you meant then I'm sorry, just sounded like it...The kids from OF weren't the ones that voted on that...It is good recognition for that program and I think coach Bennett realizes that it's just a meaningless PRESEASON poll.
 23. OF is looking strong. Felts and Statum keep hitting the lights out OF could make some noise this season........ After watching 3 games this weekend, it's not just those 2 that are doing damage. Coach Bennett has a good supporting cast to put around those 2...it's still early and their competition will get better as the year goes along, but they are playing with a little bit of confidence right now. They were down 4 twice today but in true Orangefield fashion, they never gave up and kept battling. This group will be fun to watch this year.
 24. Yes they did, 9 innings, 6 pitchers threw and allowed 1 run; Pitching was about as expected, defense was ok and offense needs some more work; all in all about as expected for a first scrimmage. OF is young all the way around the diamond, with some more coming out after basketball. Next 2 scrimmages will be a good test, Vidor on Saturday and then Nederland next Tuesday. Coach Bennett has this program on the rise and good things will happen for them. How did the Felts kid look ? I believe he threw first and went 2 innings, had a little wildness but kept his composure and got out of some tight spots; he looked great behind the plate, though, was throwing rockets to 2nd base
