  1. I second the motion to call it the HIGHLAND PARK RULE. Now honestly, would any other school besides HP get this changed. So much for "winning" a coin toss, huh.
  2. Just thankful they left out BROWNSVILLE, EL PASO, & AMARILLO from consideration!
  3. I guess no other team thought it was possible to 'borrow' or 'share' seven jerseys. No one had athletic tape to make numbers 1, 11, 7, 71, 17, 77, & 0? Sorry way to lose........
  4. WOS - Jasper Nederland - PNG Silsbee - Jasper Ozen - Central PNG - Dayton Kelly vs. Christus Sisters of Charity
  5. I'll say any game thats decided on the last play or goes into OT. In the past few years the Memorial vs. Midland Lee OT game, the Nederland/Friendwwood double-over time games, two years in a row, and any game where WOS beats BC..........
  6. Nice to know the TEXANS are tossing in free tickets for all the fans who are there on Friday night. LOL Should be a great night in Reliant to see these 4 teams play. Can't wait.
  7. With the new coach at the helm Lumberton has made dramatic strides eveb before the first snap. Any progress is always in the right direction. I expect a few surprises from the Hardin County 22-AAAA connection.
  8. This coming season is going to be a monster in AAA & AAAA in SE Texas! So many teams so few invitations to the dance. I think AAA will prove to be more exciting week in and week out than AAAA. Regardless, its going to be fun, fun, fun........as long as no blasted storm doesn't screw it up. This is where we need KFDM Coop to kick in in gear. We're depending on you Coop! OK..heres my choice for 22-AAAA 1) Ozen 2) Central 3) Nederland 4) Dayton 5) PNG 6) LCM 7) Vidor 8) Lumberton
  9. Ground Hog Day (Feb. 02) will be another hit on the chops for the PAISD. What is bad is getting worse. Can someone in south county tell us when things will get better? Every day another story or rumor emerges and in doing so a deeper hole is being dug.
  10. I think the addition of BH in 20-AAAA will provide extra-spice for the district. Toss in a quality program like BH will make this a bit more fun.
  11. February 2nd is Ground Hogs Day. How many coaches will wake up from their hibernation?
  12. This will be a great venue to watch the game and to see the other teams. A great day for scouts to fill up their videotape for the rest of the season. Now, roof open or roof closed?
  13. We'll see what happens here.........are the $$$$ big enough?
  14. My best to all! May the Lord always bless!
  15. You might have to adjust to five hours between each game instead of four. Great idea if Cardinal Stadium had turf and someone had foresight.
  16. PNG Proud, I'm not trying to get rid of Colbert, just trying to get him different scenery. Happy New Year! RG
  17. Lumberton ISD now has the great task of rebuilding a AAAA program and finding a coach before re-alignment. This may be the last cycle for Lumberton to be in AAAA. Not too many years down the road the enrollment will be in the AAAAA range. The Raiders now must establish themselves with a proven coach. There is no time to mess around and experiment if the Raiders will grow and improve. Isn't this the same Lumberton team which has never made it to the playoffs?
  18. The New Monday Night Football team will be: Al Michaels will be doing the play by play. Joe Theisman will do the color....depending on the number of crayons he has.
  19. Great article by Bob West and it makes one wonder how much longer Dodge will be at SLC. I know he'll be there until his son graduates from SLC so that means more Dodge & SLC in state championships. He has the best of everything in the palm of his hand. Still it begs the question "Where will he go in the next few years?"
  20. Silsbee is already the newest field in SE Texas. They did a nice job on the entire complex. The addition of field turf will just add to the pride and increased interest of people.
  21. OCBulldog, You make some good points on the cost of the stadiums and the declining census of the GT. You know I've seen so many sports teams come and go in my 13 years of living here. The one sport which causes the blood to run and at times to boil is high school football. Remember, we have the fans that pack the stadiums on a Friday night. What better INVESTMENT than a top notch stadium in our area. Imagine if such a stadium was built on I-10 instead of CAN'T-AFFORD-IT PARK? That would have been a sight to see by the passing traffic on a Friday night.
  22. Oh it would be nice if at least one stadium would have field turf. No one seems to be willing to bite the financial bullet to do what needs to be done. Oh yes you hear those complaining about taxes and the rest of the moaning, but the bottom line is that we're getting further behind the standard which teams, coaches, and fans expect. Honestly the Golden Triangle is quickly slipping below silver to bronze. Our stadiums in the GT are not that good. Just travel across the state and see for yourself.
  23. Any hunches where the cutoff lines will be for the various classifications? Do you see any changes from the previous realignment numbers?
  24. This board looks great. Nice job guys! Good luck and I'll be posting often. Let's do our best to keep this board moving! Again, thanks!
