The Evadale Lady Rebels fared well in their first scrimmage of the season as they split with Kirbyville 1-1 and lost to Buna 2-0 Freshman and JV teams also played well. The teams will be right back at it tomorrow morning beginning at 10:00am when the Lady Rebels will host Burkeville and Legacy Christian at the Rebel Gym. First regular season game will be Tuesday in Newton at 4:30 Head coach Debbie Hollyfield will begin her 7th season in Evadale and her 11th year overall Coaching Record: 181-91    District Record 65-10 Assistant Coach is Tasha McAdams Athletic Director: Mark Williams

I have no problem with any out of school program that helps kids improve their talents; however if education is still the main concern of all of us then the summer programs should be scaled back to meet school requirements. Team play and coaches who are trained and being paid to instruct our kids not only in the classroom should take precedent over summer programs.....There are many things we have to choose between in life and their are always + and - to choices..................so make your choice and live with the results.  Not saying you cant be a team member in school if you decide to miss opening practices, just saying that those who put in the work from the beginning will be rewarded with playing time......Its still about team, if its about individual then try individual sport......Team concept is important in teaching sports... JMO

To all coaches: lets get your schedules on this site so everyone can follow your teams. Evadale is the only schedule so far.

Ok volleyball fans now the forum is on the list and first practice is approaching, I know many are not yet in school but get to a computer and get your schedules sent in and make the volleyball forum as good as the rest of the major sports. The girls work hard and deserve the coverage. Thanks WOSgrad andSETXSPORTS For you coaches who just dont have the time its a good assignment for a student interested in communications or sports reporting to report game scores and records on the forum under supervision of course

Nothing to hang your heads about Rebs there are over 100 1A teams wishing they would have played in the championship game. Congrats Coaches and players for a great season............

Both Evadale and Windthorst have plenty of offense. It could be a real slugfest but you know how that goes it could be 1-0 I like Evadales pitching and defense. They win the statistical battle with Windthorst in every category but stats dont win championships. However most of the time stats dont lie. Rebels win state ;)

Dubose singled to right field, RBI (0-1); Anthony scored. Murphy pinch ran for Dubose. Cravy struck out swinging (1-2). Murphy failed pickoff attempt. Potts doubled to left center, RBI (1-1); Murphy scored. Nichols flied out to rf (1-0). 2 runs, 4 hits, 0 errors, 1 LOB.  :) :) :) :)Priceless

Lets not make too much of the words exchanged between fans. It was nothing to speak of and PC is just a great fan and is one of the most positive guys you will ever meet. He didnt do anything wrong. The cayuga fan just got a little frustrated and tried to impose his will it just didnt take thats all. No fight just a few words and some cold water. What a great game for the Rebels. Hot Hot Hot............ 8) Congrats to Coach Williams Coach Charlton and Coach Conner, what a great job you all have done all year long. The players-just stay together you have a chance to do something that many never get the chance to do. What a great group you all are, its a real pleasure to watch you all play hard with great sportsmanship. Take it one game at a time.
