*HJ at BC Tuesday...Predictions*
Gabe replied to Bobcatfan4life's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Wasn't there, but heard the defense was leaky for the Cards. I wouldnt say the Cards defense was shaky. HJ put the ball in play with hard hits that found holes and gaps. BC on the other hand had MANY hits line right at fielders, one which almost took Monse head off! He made a great grab at it and the 3B, sorry his name has left me, made a great diving play in foul territory right at the fence. It was one of those games where the Hawks got the hits and the Cardinals did not. -
I never saw the picture of me wearing the first one at the game. I wore it yesterday as an undershirt, it is quite comfy

LOL so sports writers cant join in a conversation and have opinions and enjoy sports arguements? I am the one saying there is noway Vidor will take it easy!

...........................................mumbles out "yes they seem to be a good team"

Tejada is starting to kill the ball for an old man

Spurs are now up 2-0.... I got nothing tonight.

Its all how you look at it and you look more like Tony Kornheiser . Theres a lot of factors that go into this. LCM can end all the talk just by winning the game and putting the issue to rest. I dont like taking it easy in the NFL or any sport. If you suit up to play, then play the game to win and not take it easy for any reason.
-
OK heres my take after I have thought about this... And I know LCM will take a win over Vidor no matter what the circumstances are and who plays for the Pirates. A team should play to win every single game no matter what is going on. It is why you play. The Pirates should want to beat the Bears and the Bears should want to beat the Pirates at their best. If LCM downs Vidor, which I really think they will, the Bears will have earned the playoff spot obviously. Vidor in my mind is a prideful team and will play just like they have all season long. You cannot just at the end of the year go half-at a game and feel good about it. LCM will have Vidors attention and this will be a good game.

I know you were just, and I hope, not being too serious with this. Would you be ok if Vidor 'looked out for their neighbor?' LOL

I have never commented on this whole situation once but I want to finally say this kid seems in my eyes to been thrown in the fire each and every time his name comes up. I know he has done wrong and is not perfect but neither are any of us. I now hope he goes to UT and does well for himself and has turned a corner in his life. Maybe UT should be applauded for not giving up on a kid and sticking with him. This could be a turning point in this young mans life and only good things are in his future. He has his second chance, it is on his shoulders to make the best of it.

[Hidden Content] By Dave Meltzer Chuck Liddell, the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s most well-known star, has been pulled off the June 7th main event at the O2 Arena in London due to a partial hamstring tear suffered in training on April 11. The UFC made the official announcement Monday when company president Dana White found out about the severity of the injury from Liddell, who had continued light training over the past week and hoped to be able to salvage his pay-per-view main event fight with Rashad Evans. It was the first time in Liddell’s 10-year career that he’s canceled a fight, which has included fighting Tito Ortiz on two separate occasions with torn MCLs, and fighting Quinton Jackson in Japan with a torn quadriceps muscle. Liddell said the injury, which won’t require surgery, took place while doing light training, and he heard the muscle pop. He was hoping it wasn’t serious but trainer John Hackelman immediately thought he had hurt it pretty bad as the entire muscle became discolored. “I hyperextended it,†Liddell said. “I probably didn’t warm up enough, or it was a freak injury.†“I think I can fight by August,†said Liddell, who will need four to six weeks to rehab the muscle before he can work on strengthening and building up to hard training. “Unfortunately, Chuck Liddell tore his right hamstring during training last week, and being the warrior that he is, he still wanted to fight, which is the reason everyone in the world loves him,†said White in a release making the cancellation official. “But I wouldn’t let anyone fight with his leg looking that way. Let him heal and come back and fight when he is 100 percent.†Liddell said he was lucky, in a sense, that the partial tear was in the belly of the muscle and not the insertion, so it should Rehab faster. Since the injury he had continued to train upper body and was swimming without much stress on his legs, while keeping the injury quiet and consulting with various doctors who had advised him against fighting. “I can’t walk without a limp,†he said, but noted the pain is manageable, and in recent days has been able to ride the bike, but not at a fast pace, and has started throwing light kicks in the swimming pool as well as doing bodyweight squats. But he can’t push off or do any kind of normal fight training. UFC is attempting to both get a replacement to face the undefeated Evans, 16-0-1, as well as add a couple of matches to the show to make up for Liddell not appearing. They are going to schedule 13 matches instead of 11 as originally planned. James “Sandman†Irvin, who tied a UFC record with an eight second knockout of Houston Alexander on April 2 in Broomfield, Colo., is among those under consideration. Brandon Vera vs. Fabricio Werdum in a heavyweight match was the scheduled No. 2 match on the show. The O2 Arena in London, which holds 16,200 fans for a UFC setup, was a few hundred tickets shy of sold out as of Monday according to UFC officials, who noted that even with higher ticket prices, sales were ahead of the pace of the debut show on Sept. 8 headlined by the Quinton Jackson vs. Dan Henderson UFC vs. Pride title unification match. Liddell said he had never told White in advance about any injuries, but felt he had to tell him about this one. White, likely figuring if Liddell called to tell him about it that it had to be serious, told Liddell it wasn’t a smart move to take the fight with the injury, which could worsen in training or fighting and threaten his career longevity.

Rockets vs. Jazz Game Thread/Jazz Advance

Shorttexas - It does not matter if he has the game of Kobe. He is the star of this team and is the go-to person in crunch time. He has to take the shots and find ways to be the man down the stretch. That is why he is here and that is why he is paid the big bucks. Teams dont just let Kobe and Lebron run freely on the court. They find shots and find ways to take a shot and give their teams the best ways to win. McGrady instead passes the ball and lets someone else decide the game because he has no killer instinct. True superstars not only take the big shot, they want the big shot and cannot dream of passing the ball in a critical situation. It does not even cross their mind. -

Down 2, it would seem its over. McGrady has 1 point in each of the fourth quarters in both games combined. -

Scola doesnt get the foul if McGrady goes all the way to the hole and finishes. He is the star of the game and needed to take over and put it in his hands. -

TRACY MCGRADY JUST PASSED THE BALL OFF TWICE. ONCE GOING TO THE HOLE AND THEN ACROSS COURT! Jordan, Lebron, Kobe, AI = take the shots down the stretch and want the ball. McGrady doesnt -

It just seems to me the Rockets will have to be perfect to win 4 games in this series. I dont mean near perfect, everything will have to be in line for Houston to win the series. -

I dont equate "mash hole the ball", I assume that means killing the ball, to only scoring 4 runs...If HJ scores 4 runs, they will not win. BC will score more than 4 against the Hawks.
