The bottom line is their coach did what he thought was best for his team.  Even in hindsight I believe he did what was best for his team.  They were one swing of the bat away from the lead in the fifth.  I respect their coaches courage for making the decision he did.  I think it was the decision that gave his team the best chance to advance with prom and pitching staff to go three games. (which I also beleive would have happened)  It just did not work out.  That game could have gone either way.  We have all been on the other side of these type games before.  In the end there should be nothing but respect for the 2011 Lee Ganders and their coach.
Well said and good luck

Your coach chose a one-gamer for a reason! ;)
I believe the "1 gamer choice" was a prom issue. After all Lee's #2 (Gomez) shutout GCM on 5 hits in their 19-4A finale. “If the players stay out too late after prom, and then have to play maybe two big games on Saturday, it wouldn’t have been best for them. And if the weather is hot and humid, that could be bad,” said Hackney. (Baytown Sun 5/4/11) Hats off to LC-M for getting to Reed, and Smith's shutting down the Lee offense.
 3. Gonna be tough, Baytown Sterling is like a second home for PNG. They play very well there.
 4. Baytown Sterling - 5 PA Memorial - 3 WP - Pledger CG, 7IP, 13K, 2ER HR - Zavala (Sterling)

Are you f-ing serious. A monkey could coach GCM, they are that stacked and talented. You have 2 premier pitchers, an all state CF, a 1B man that not only has the heart of a champion but the tenacity of a lion (love ya D), a SS that could someday be in the bigs, and not to mention a converted outfielder that was a catcher that is lights out. Give me and every intelligent individual thats reads you rhetoric a break. Crosby on the other hand has a make shift bunch of scrubs. Kinda like when Walter Matthau took the BAD NEWS BEARS to the dome and Kelly, Tatum and the boys beat the dreaded Yankees... just bring the "A" game tomorrow and let nature take its course, kinda like the way the unicorns became extinct you jackhole....
As an outsider, I gotta go with Rupp on the coaching. But Walter Matthau? Come on man, it was Kelly Leak's Dad (William Devane) that coached the Bears in the dome.

They are doing it all right now.
Any info. about a freshman for CV....Stanzey ? How 'bout those Falcons....Eagle07's old stomping ground.  ;D
There is a freshman, Ricky Stelzer on the roster that I believe you are referring to. He went 2 for 6 with 2 BB against Sterling last week and went deep against Westbrook last night. He is as advertised.
Is CV at Westbrook tomorrow ?
Yes

 9. Think GCM is too deep and strong to be challenged for the district title. My opinion, Jacobs should contribute to U of H immediately upon arrival. Has any of the other GCM kids committed besides Jacobs?

 11.
Sterling was down 11-8 last I heard. Trying to confirm a final.
North Shore 14 Sterling 9 Final Sterling still not hitting the ball well, 9 runs on only 6 hits. Pledger may be tired, 7 starts and 9 appearances in 12 district games. The two freshmen threw well in finishing the game allowing only 3 runs in 4 1/3. Rios - 2/3 inning, 2 un-earned runs. Garcia - 4 K's, 1 run in 3 2/3 innings.
 12.
In viewing the stats I dont too many people hitting period right? Looked like the frosh sat out last game too right?
Yes, one took a grounder to the grill in practice that required stitches. And no the team as a whole is not hitting. Only1 hit in the 10-0 loss to Channelview with just 2 reaching base total.
 13.
Well, BCA had play only 2 TCAL games in 26, so I don't know that you can assert any inflation.  Of course, there are a number of private school teams, but the Bulldogs have plied their skills again several public schools.  A few include Orangefield, who they defeated 11-8, Huffman who they defeated 5-2 and Silsbee who they lost to 8-4. I'd have to say BCA is as good as advertised. Now, stewie! WHERE'S MY MONEY! YOU GONNA GIVE ME MY MONEY, MAN!
LOL, thanks for the information. That clears it up for me. I know when Sterling played them in the Herrrington tournament, they had Sterling beat until the final inning when the BCA relievers lost the strike zone walking in the winning run. BCA having defeated the teams listed above I would have to agree with the consensus that they are for real. Thank you.
 14.

How many games was Mack even available this year?
Entire district schedule. Believe it or not Sterling is still mathmatically able to go to playoffs. Sterling wins out and North Shore loses out, Sterling would go as the 4th team via head to head tiebreaker. Sterling plays North Shore twice this week and finishes up with 2 against P.A.Memorial. North Shore finishes up against Channelview, which is playing good right now.
Gotta think positive!
 15. Noticed the 28-0, 2 inning game BCA put on Sanchez. Is this a reflection of the competition in TCAL when BCA gets run-ruled outside of TCAL competition? I know there are some good ballplayers at BCA but I am not familiar with the TCAL classification or how competitive it is and is BCA's stats inflated due to that. Just a question, no slam intended.

 17.
Final C'view   10 RSS        0 I think that ends any hopes of a playoff spot for the Rangers.
Yea they are toast. Seen things thought I'd never see. A Sophomore playing 4 and 5 different postions in a game on multiple occasions batting .200 and making errors at each stop along they way, pulling upper classmen with much higher fielding percentages and averages in order to start or keep Freshmen and Sophomores on the field. It obviously was a re-building year but the Seniors were not let in on it. There are two scholarship players (Pledger/Mack) on the roster as well as two more that could be, yet Mack as a 6'1 LHP (Angelina)was not utilized and Pledger (Hill) had minimal run support and shoddy defense behind him.
