  1. I'd rather Malakoff, to be honest. They've got less of a passing attack and play into our strengths more than Rockdale. Either way, it will be a great game. Not completely sure why you're so convinced it'll be our last round though lol
  2. **7:30pm Mustang Stadium, Madisonville, Texas** **Woodville Eagles live radio broadcast on SETXSports.com** **Winner plays Malakoff/Rockdale in area round** Woodville and Hempstead travel to Madisonville to play thid first round bi-district match on Friday. Woodville is coming off a commanding 34-6 win over Coldspring-Oakhurst to capture the District 11-3A title and #1 seed. Hempstead beat Hardin pretty convincingly, 34-14, to maneuver their way into the playoffs as the 4th seed out of District 12-3A. Both teams have weapons at their disposal and athletes on both sides of the ball. I think Woodville's arsenal is much more talented and much deeper than Hempstead's and will prove to be too much for the Bobcats. Hempstead will come ready to play and be well-coached, and the Eagles can't take them lightly. I believe Coach Robinson and his staff will have the Eagles focused and ready to go. Woodville pulls away in the second half and moves on to a very interesting Area Round match-up..... Woodville 48 Hempstead 20
  3. Woodville wins the district and gets the #1 seed. Will likely play Hempstead next week.
  4. 21-yard TD pass from Shaw to Beatty!! XP good. Not bad for no passing offense. Lol Q3 4:54 Woodville 27 CS 6
  5. Woodville with a 39-yard TD PASS from Shaw to Martin! XP good. 7:31 Q1 Woodville 7 CS 0
  6. Your top teams in Region 3 are Malakoff, Rockdale, Teague, Woodville, Franklin, and yes, Cameron Yoe.
  7. The fact is that developing and maintaining an effective passing offense is exponentially more difficult than implementing a run-heavy offense. There are so many more variables and much more specific talents are needed. In an effective passing offense, the football IQ of the entire team must be higher than your average player at the high school level. A quality rushing offense is exciting and alot of fun to watch for any football fan. I appreciate what Coach Robinson has done so much because he simplified the game for our kids and wants to teach and expand in order to develop a program. We all can agree that watching a well-executed, effective passing attack is a thing of beauty to a true football fan. At that level of the game, the room for error is much smaller. That's why it's so difficult. I'm not saying Woodville will go to 4+ rounds deep. That's not likely at all. But I just want somebody to admit two things to me: 1. That there are not 10 teams in 3AD1 that you can say for sure would beat us. And 2. That, even though it's highly unlikely and the chances are slim-to-none, Woodville COULD make a deep run with luck on their side. For so many years, including my high school tenure, nobody ever even considered or even included us in the Tier 1/Tier 2 conversation. I coached these Juniors from flag football up until they started Middle School football. My brother played with them for years. So this is bittersweet to me lol we've lost (knock on wood) two regular season games in the last two years. That's how many games we WON in the 2013 regular season lol if we get past the first round again, we will have won as many playoff games in two years as we did in 50+ years prior. Lol I know we're nowhere near the WOS, Newton, Katy, and Carthage level of success. But look back and see where those programs came from. With the exception of Brock and Allen, there aren't many programs who just jump into success. Lol but I'll get off my soapbox now. Not that any of you probably read this entire post. Lol Go Eagles!! #backtoback #Jordan'96/'97 #likeimonthecoveroflethalweapon
  8. Exactly. Think of a traditional pro-style offense, just Patriots/Browns about the middle of the 4th quarter lol
  9. Katy runs practically a pro-style offense at the high school level lol they can throw the ball. Trust me.
  10. Also, dynamic is characterized by constant change, activity, or progress. It's not specifically limited to change. Hmmmm..... And yes, I had to Google it lmao
  11. Okay, I apologize for my misuse of the word dynamic lol if that's the only thing that's found wrong about this post on Saturday morning, I'll be perfectly content. Also, having just looked at the new DCTF 3AD1 Top 10, you might wanna take a look also at which of those teams have extensive passing attacks. Kinda surprised me, honestly lol Wall, Brock, Woodville, Comanche, Mount Vernon, and Goliad. Not sure about Shallowater or Marion.
  12. **SETXSports.com 4A/3A Game of the Week** **Live broadcast on SETXSports.com** **District championship game** **7:30pm at Trojan Stadium, Coldspring-Oakhurst CISD, Coldspring, Texas** It all comes down to this. The Woodville Eagles travel to Coldspring to take on the Trojans in a battle for the district championship and, of course, the #1 seed. Woodville is coming off a much needed Bye week, while Coldspring-Oakhurst completed a 44-8 thrashing of Kountze last week. Woodville's dynamic offense will have its toughest test in district this week. I still think, with as many athletes as we have, and the wear and tear our offense employs on defenses throughout the course of four quarters, there's no reason we shouldn't put up 40 points, as we have in every other district game thus far. Coldspring, like the Eagles, can score points in a hurry. I think this is a very competitive game and will be fun to watch. Woodville has way too many athletes on defense that won't allow the big plays Coldspring has grown accustom to this year. They'll put up some points, but if it's s shootout, then the Eagles roll all night long. *Prediction* #3 Woodville 42 #8 Coldspring-Oakhurst 21 **Last Meeting** 2017: Woodville 33, Coldspring-Oakhurst 18
  13. Smh. Ye of little faith. Woodville is averaging 39ppg on offense and surrendering 19ppg on defense. The Kountze game's 2nd half surge spoke more positive about the Lions, rather than negative about Woodville. They'll be prepared. That, along with the return of starting LT Cade Bass after the week off to recover, point to a good week for the Eagles. Coldspring will be ready and compete well most of the way. I think Woodville's offense wears the Trojans down by the 4th, where Woodville pulls away. Should be a great game though! I'll be there! Go Eagles! Woodville 42 Coldspring 21
  14. Hempstead wins. Gets the 4th spot. See you next week
  15. Trinity is a better team than they were last season and they have alot of potential. They just seemed to lack the desire to play at a high level every single snap.
  16. Kirbyville by 2 scores just to be safe. Its a close game in the first half, then Jackson takes over the game in the second half. Kirbyville 42 Trinity 28
  17. Yes. Spoke to a friend of mine that lives up there.
  18. Ima Jeans and Texas Grill are both really good. Ima Jeans is like soul food-ish and Texas Grill speaks for itself lol
