  1. End 1. Woodville 0 Madisonville 3 Woodville had a fumble on their first drive and a punt on their second. Both defenses playing well. Both offenses killing themselves. Woodville is the obviously more athletic team though.
  2. FG Madisonville. Q1 7:37 Woodville 0 Madisonville 3
  3. A friend of mine said last year that they had several very good ball players. They should do well. I'm just not sure if they can stop Woodville's rushing attack. It might turn into a track meet.
  4. The offense as a whole is unique and hard to label. Base set is the old double wing. With the starters we return on offense, it has the potential to be one of the most high-powered rushing attacks in class 3A.
  5. Yes. We lost a couple of key pieces, but I've been really impressed at the way our staff has been able to fill those voids very nicely.
  6. --Woodville's game against Corrigan-Camden was cancelled due to adverse effects from Hurricane Harvey. Madisonville is coming off an impressive 24-0 lashing of perennial 3aD1 power Teague. --Both teams return alot of talent from teams that were much improved last season. On top of the returning talent, the head coaches of both teams are young and very good at what they do. --The key to the game will be Madisonville's ability to stop the potent Woodville rushing attack that averaged 350+ rushing yards per game during the regular season last year. The Mustang secondary looked stout against Teague from what I can see on video, but the Lions are almost the exact opposite of Woodville when it comes to offensive style. Woodville 28 Madisonville 13
  7. If we could've kept the Jasper game last week, our strength-of-schedule would've been improved by a good margin. Liberty (top 20 4aD2), Madisonville (beat Teague last week), and LCM (4a playoff quality team) is a good pre-district slate for any 3A team, considering the circumstances. It should be a good game. I'm sure our boys look forward to playing one of the better backs SETX has to offer in the Winters kid.
  8. Woodville vs Madisonville Neither area was hit too hard, so this should be a safe bet.
  9. Friday at 7pm in Woodville Who you got? Should be a pretty good game.
  10. Woodville/Corrigan cancelled. Woodville and Jasper will play in Woodville at 7pm tomorrow.
  11. Unfortunately I work a job that doesn't allow me to use my phone at work and takes up so much of my time, I haven't been able to attend either scrimmage. I will be there week one though. Lol
  12. The sentiment here at Meet the Eagles isn't quite so negative, but it definitely isn't positive. Horrible may be a little extreme, but it doesn't sound like it was pretty at all. A lot of technical mistakes and lapses in discipline is what it seems like were the main issues. I can accept that alot easier than I could a lack of conditioning or lack of hustle. Overall sounded like it went exactly how most first scrimmages go.....ugly. Lol
  13. Woodville looked very good in the 30 minute sample of the 1st team offense that I saw. A few very interesting position changes that could potentially make them even more dangerous than they already are, as well as fill some big holes on the defensive side. Left tackle Cade Bass is a beast and is easily one of the top offensive line prospects in SETX. It was a very small sample size, but if it continues on the same path.....the rest of the district better bring their A-game.
  14. I have alot of friends and family, as well as many many great memories that stem from the town of Kirbyville. I will support them fully any week except for when they play my Eagles.
  15. One of the more underrated prospects in SETX. Pre-season District Offensive MVP according to DCTF. Class of 2019. Take a look. 5'10" 190lbs. 1,300yds/14 TD's as a sophomore sharing carries with two other primary backs last year. Enjoy.
  16. No Zack Martin from Woodville?? That's odd....unless they're highlighting the seniors? But other than that, I thought it was a very good list.
  17. I feel like Buna will be Coldspring's best competition for the second spot. Woodville is the favorite, but nothing is set in stone by any means. They'll have to work for it just like every other team. Hopefully I can be there to watch Woodville/Coldspring this year.
