( iam assuming you are an umpire since you were at the meeting the other night).
Hmmm....  If im reading this correctly. Among many umpires they would allow a bad call to be made just so the other one did not look bad instead of getting the call correct in an important game. Because to the boys playing they are all important . I thought the umps job would be to make the correct call no mater what. Who cares if they look bad. The games not about them. Its about calling the right call for the baseball game being played.  I would hope that this is not how they really look at it.

But If Im not mistaken the possible tie breakers arent to settle any district placing . Its to decide seeding for playoffs. Am I wrong on this.
Not 100% sure but I think you can only have one District Champion....  And the champ would get the first round bye.
Yes Like you said I am not 100% sure . I had only herd that if Silsbee and BC Both win out and notice I said IF.  Then both would end up CO- Champs for the season but the Sat.  game would be only to decide the seeding of the playoffs. Can anyone straiten this question out ?

 4. Was  there a ball in the second basemans glove or at least an attempt to get the ball? if not it would be interferance on the second baseman. But if there was then its an out on the runner and possibly ejection depending on how the ump saw it. But you never said one way or the other. so Im not sure. This is my guess and how i would have called it.
 5.
Keep you heads up Tigers, that was a quality team.....
I believe all the Tigers are just fine. I would say they would have liked the shot at them with all the first team on the field. And where they normaly play. And with normal pitching. But it was very good batting practice and gave some of the pitching that hadnt seen pitching in a long while a chance to get some good work in . Other than that.  The bats that were batting.  Did really well.
Not that I have anything at all against HJ because I dont . But I also think that if Buna puts together a game Like they played against Silsbee They will walk away with the W. They really looked sharp
Hey 643 I dont want you to think Im ignoring you question but I dont really know I would think Gladtobehere would know that question or Aggi might know also

Rather than a game to try and win. I would also think that LH could possibly be doing the same. I wouldnt look to much in who comes out the winner in this game. Rather look at what Silsbee gains from this game
Are you trying to make excuses already?
He just happens to know what the coaches plans for this game is...... We have had a starting pitcher on the DL for several weeks that will get his first start and throw for a VERY limited pitch count, then there will be a big mix of getting an inning or two for some of the guys that haven't pitched much since district started.  There is plans to get some guys some playing time and some plans to let some of the guys that are nursing some strains and sprains some rest.  No excuses needed!
Thanks I didnt want to go into that much detail but yes thank you very much.
 9.
I know for a fact that Silsbee will not be throwing their #1 or #2, not sure about Hudson but do not expect them to throw their best.
Thats correct Aggi.

I think it all depends on who LH has up next.  Good luck to Silsbee!!!!!!! I say Silsbee wins 4-2  ;D
It would be nice for Silsbees batters to get to look at LH best pitching. But like you said it would depend on who they play next .

 13.
I havent called anyone a name... Check all my post.... I simply got on here and agreed with the HJ folks that we got robbed by two clueless umps and you guys got on here and tried to attack me!!! As usual the moderators wait till I defended myself against the Silsbee onslaught to do anything. Maybe you Silsbee folks should get on here and tell Former Fan to get lost..... Take his Silsbee fan card and throw it in Village Creek and see which community he can piss off next... This guy (or girl, I've never met him/her) is why I'm hoping Silsbee gets this umpire in the first round of the playoffs...
Well I would think thats between you and the farmer . The silsbee team didnt have nothing to do with any of this. So why would you wish bad things on a team that hasnt done any of this to you .  I think it would be better if the two of you settled your differences and left the others out of it.

BC and Silsbee are in of course and the fight is for third. Yes, this did help Orangefields cause but at this point in the season Buna is palying better and has the better chance to take that third spot. HJ has never really been in the race up to this point.
Your correct its your opinion but its like some other things we all have. So from your post I guess all others should lay down, your right HJ hasn't been in it so they should just play their JV the rest of the season. I'll say it again its a shame for >>ANY<< team NOT to have exp Umpires in Dist games, I hope Silsbee gets these same 2 in Bi-Dist...., surely he won't scratch ether of them. One call >could< cost a game or swing the momentum, if you disagree >>you havn't been to many contest...plain n simple
Questions, why do you hope that Silsbee get these umps in Bi-District? Why not other teams getting them in 1st round? How do you know Silsbee will play a 1st round (Bi-District) playoff?
Hmm not sure about why Silsbee is being hated on like that . The person 643 is talking to isn't from Silsbee. Silsbee didn't have anything to do with any of this game. Just not sure why you pointed out only Silsbee?
 15.
So if there is a 3rd game, would it be the Saturday following dist play most likely? (April 27th)
Thats what I have been told about the dates if there is another game.
 16. WOW what a game. it had the very same intensity as the First game.  Both sides played very well. I'm sure #3 Will Be every bit as good as the first and second game. I'm going to have to stock up on peanuts ;D
 17. Oh Lordy. With the game changed to 2:00 Saturday and this nervous stomach I know im gona run outa peanuts ;D
 18. I'll Start eating peanuts now. I think someone said they calm a nervous stomach  ;D
 19.
Who pitched for Silsbee? Buna has a pretty dang good team..can't overlook anyone in this district!
Started Gore.  Then Griffin. And Powell Came in for the last three outs.  And Yes Kudo's to Buna They were there to win no doubt. cant say enough about them tonight. they played their hearts out.
 20. All I can say is great job Buna you played a great game. Very impressed.  I started another Thread earlier about can Buna slow down Silsbee and Ill answer that myself.  YES. Great job to all of you.
 21. Given up 11 runs (2.75 per game) Tigers have scored 80 runs in their 7 district games (11.4 per game). This leads 21-3A.
I agree, Silsbee has the best lineup in the district, more kids have good swings than any other lineup I have seen, and I have seen them all.  But let's be honest about this, most (a lot) of those run rules have been scored as a result of defensive errors.  Now I credit the silsbee bats with putting the ball in play with force, force that created forced errors, but I also know from 2 games I have seen: silsbee vs Buna, and Wo-s that both losing teams had numerous defensive chances to stay in the ball game.  Admittedly, Silsbee does seem to be a little out of of everyone's league across the board athletically, and shouldnt they be with the enrollment numbers year after year.  Schools like BC and even Buna and OF to a degree represent themselves nicely in my opinion with nearly 1/2 the athletes to choose from.  BC definitely has the edge right now on pitching development and silsbee does have the bats which makes for the obvious great match up. Buna will not dazzle you with pitching right now, but they will fight till the end, their bats have been lively at times, but not consistantly, and the defense has yet to form an identity, boys have been playing all over the field.  I think they will figure it out.  Sure silsbee is the favorite, but by no means untouchable as some have suggested, they may want to be careful before they just start overlooking teams.......like Buna.
Boxscore for the Buna/Silsbee and WO-S/Silsbee:                     R      H      E Buna              0      4      2 Silsbee          11    8      0 5 innings                     R      H      E WO-S          2      3      1 Silsbee        12      9      2 5 innings Not sure that 2 and 1 errors in those games created most of those runs. ::) Also, in regards to enrollment of Bridge City and Silsbee. BC's is 775, Silsbee 825. That does not compute to BC having half the athletes as Silsbee. ;) BTW, I don't see anywhere that Silsbee is looking past Buna.
if you are correct about the enrollment of BC, then I just had bad information, I thought they were 500 range,(my Bad) Buna is just over 400, I think they bulged last year at 420 I was told OF is in about the same as Buna, but I am not sure by any means? If 825 is right for silsbee then I see your point of BC / Silsbee being close to equals, last number I saw on silsbee  was mid 900's I thought.  Regardless, I compliment you guys with the quality of athletes you have year in and year out!!! I figured it might come off as a whiner comment, I was just trying to give cuddos to smaller schools for being competitive. The boxscore for Buna/silsbee is just wrong.  There were 3 errors at first base that night that each runner scored there after There were 2 errors in RF, one dropped ball, and one ball that just landed in outfield(lost in lights or not picked up off bat)catchable ball that was hit very well that ended up I am sure as a 2 run triple.  There were two balls hit that were legit hits to left field that on paper aren't errors:  but one should have been sent straight to second for a good chance at and out, and another to home that any decent catch/throw would have caught the runner at home.  Plays that in my opinion Silsbee's defense could make as well as Buna's defense normally.  There was a PB/Wp that brought runner home, and third strike/questionable hit by pitch that brought another runner home.  One of those nights where it seemed nothing went right.  Buna had defensive opportunities to stay in the game and just didnt.  Silsbee played much better ball that night and wins regardless in my opinion.  They had plenty of clean hits to do that, I just don't think they score as much as they did without the defensive help provided by buna. Silsbee vs WO-S, again about the same story, at one point it was 6-3, and then the wheels came off.   No doubt about it, silsbee was stroking the ball, but it doesn't get out of hand, if Defense made more of routine plays that they are capable of doing.  I didnt keep track like I did in Buna game, but in the last couple of innings, there were several passballs/wp that runners advanced on, not throwing ahead runners to put a stop to them, not hitting cutoffs, misplaying flyballs.......so on and so forth. Again, silsbee by all means earned their victories ....  when you hit the ball hard, good things will eventually happen.  They are swinging it well.  More impressive to me is Silsbee has limited their opponents to so few runs. Not trying to get an argument started on what are recordable errors or not, but when a ball is hit to the gap, there is not  a defense for it and you will go far if you have a bunch of those.  But when they are hit to boys with gloves and arms, then there is a chance to make plays.  There is no defense for walks, that I know about and mental mistake are preventable.
I dont think the Silsbee WOS game ever got to 6 to 3 . and why I say that is the final score was Silsbee 12 WOS 2
