1.
I thought GCM beat BH recently?  Was that some kind of a pre-district warm-up?
In baseball.  You were dreaming about a district loss in softball.  LOL
 2.
So proud of these young ladies probably the second biggest win of the season (besides the clear springs game) can anyone give any insight on this one and I know barbers hill vs ozen has been a very anticipated game this whole yr does barbers hill have a chance?
"Does Barbers Hill have a chance?"  Pretty sure they will show up at the Campbell Center at 1 pm... You bet they have a chance!  ;)
 3. Good luck to BH tonight!  A little credit to the youth b-ball program at BH where things are very competitve at a young age.  We have all been watching these girls since first grade... Let's play again on Saturday... you know next Saturday!  LOL
 4. Congrats to the Evans family.  Getting recruited is a chore if you are doing it right by looking at all options and knocking on all the doors of prospective schools.  Love Alabama (they really support their athletes) and Montgomery has some good people in it... (lived there 30+ years ago).  Good luck and have four great years!
 5. 25-12, 25-11, 25-18.  And the big winner was Al T's after the game... big crowd for a Tuesday night!
 6. The stage is pretty much set for BH vs. Dayton next Tuesday.  Dayton has to get by GCM still, but next Tuesday's winner should decide 19-4A.
 7.

B-Hill 8-1 Dayton 7-2 Baytown Lee 5-4 Goose Creek 5-4 Galena Park 4-5 Crosby 5-4 Who will win the district title B-HILL or Dayton?  B-Hill is tough but Dayton did beat them 3-0 the first time.  Who will be second place and Who will be third?  Predictions anyone???????
I think if Dayton gets past Goose Creek Friday Then I think Dayton will win District.
BH will have to get by Crosby first tonight at Crosby.  BH hasn't beat Crosby in four years at their gym.  Their school always supports their team well.  They took BH to five games on BH's home court.  The Crosby coach plays his entire bench, if he can make it go five they have a chance. As for that smackdown Dayton put on BH... they just played more agressive.  Should be a match for the district crown next Tuesday night in Dayton.
 8. Congrats Kimber!  Great school and moving in to a great conference (WAC).  Couple trips to Hawaii will be cool!  You deserve it and our family is very happy for you.  For those of you who don't know Kimber, she is one of those kids that as the NCAA advertises, "will go pro in something besides softball in four years".  Now let's go get a trip to Austin before you graduate!  Go eagles!  Go Bobcats!
 9. Not much to go on yet, but my best guess is: 1  BH 2  Lee 3  Dayton 4  Crosby
 10. What age are the girls that are playing and are they all from BC?
 11. BH went 3-1 on Thursday.  Don't know scores, but here are the results for the young BH team (2 Srs, 5 Jrs, 4 Sophs). Def. Channelview 2-0 Def. LCM 2-0 Def. Baytown Lee 2-1 Lost Baytown Sterling 1-2 (final game was 30-28) P.S.  Both setters were out for BH yesterday. Good job for a young squad.  They have their hands full tonight against #1 Friendswood.  Should be a character builder. lol
 12.
Come on BH fans, don't desert the girls cuz you have to cross H-town during rush hour  ;D  ...we and they sure appreciate the support so far!  Lets show the Lady Cubbies how we travel!
I'll be there and I hope I get to attend 5-6 more games this year!

For those who don't know, this game will be played in the best HS Gym in SETX.  8)
I was going anyway, but now I'm going for sure!  Do they have club level seating with adult beverages and free food?  How big is the jumbo-tron?  I'm not worried about parking, I'm going to valet park!  lol. Can't wait to see this...
Just visit Al-T's before the game.
Oh yeah, love that place!

 15. Shannon Evans (BH) beats any of the above mentioned in a game of one on one... if you don't believe me see you at the city park at noon on Saturday. lol Jes sayin...
 16.
Just want to thank the fan base that came out.  BH crowd outnumbered the home crowd and that means a lot to the players!  Thank you  :) Kudos to Dayton, they are a solid team and played hard.  Should give Livingston a real run for their money in bi-district. This was a special game for Evans, #11, and her Mom and Dad.  It was one year ago this week that she blew out her knee in the same gym.  Six months of grueling rehab to get back to playing form.  I don't ever say much about my daughter on here, but will take this opportunity to say I am proud of you, Shan.  Way to fight your way back.
Six month recovery from her knee injury is another great athletic feat.  My family loves watching Shannon play any sport, and we wish she was still putting on a BH softball uniform.  So, just planting the seed for a Senior year comeback as a centerfielder since this years centerfielder is graduating.  She was a pure hitter from the right side, and of course a great fielder and baserunner.  Above all #11 is a great kid.  Can't believe we are only going to have her for one more year.  Maybe she could choose a college close to home so we can still go to games....  Good job to all the BH players, and congratulations on an inevitable District Championship!   Good luck to Dayton in the playoffs.
 17. In the first meeting Dayton cried about the refs...  I'm not sure if any of them lived in BH...?  Even if Dayton suits up the principal, the head football coach, and the janitor in zebra stripes.... BH still wins in a close one!  Don't forget "the hill is for real". Just thought I would throw a little fuel on this one...
 18. Wow!  Great game!  BH came out on fire shooting...  Ozen put on the press and turned the game around.  Second half actually went BH's way by erasing the halftime deficit.  Ozen is very athletic (especially the post with some point guard moves!)  Both teams should be proud of their play. If I read it right and Ozen and BH each win their districts... this matchup wouldn't happen until the Region 3 championship.  Hard to believe a team in 4A more athletic than Ozen.  This matchup should be good for the next two years. Good luck to both teams, and I would expect limited smack talk prior to a re-match... either team could have won this game.  Does anybody know what the foul situation was for BH with 13 seconds left?  Did they have a foul to give?  They sure should have fouled #12 after the inbounds.  I kind of thought they should have fouled her anyway and took the chance at the freethrow line... she seemed to drive the basket at will during that game and the BH point guarding her had 4 fouls....
 19. Beaumont fans beware.... Hillguy and Buddy09 are trying to trap you into saying something stupid!  How does Ozen match up with BWB?  Have they played?  BH beat BWB early on without much trouble and they were athletic.... BTW, the center for BH is 6'4", and I would put our point guard up against anybody.  Overall our guard play is good. I think BH has the edge in this one cause our coaches dress up for the games (high heels and all) lol. I'm not going to miss a BH game at the GCC.  I hope we get to see a BH vs. Ozen matchup.
 20.
Final BH 60 Dayton 51 BH played poorly overall, committing way too many fouls. Foul count diff was outrageous, I believe it was 38-20 in favor of Dayton.  Of course, I would NEVER complain about the officiating  8) Also, we lost a HUGE rebounding factor with Shaw not in the game.  Sophs Naivar and May stepped up with big offense tonight...made the difference.
HillGuy, I agree with your "poor play" comment.  One of the worst games I've seen BH play this year.  Lot of girls from both sides hitting the floor hard just because of fatigue and over agressive play.  The sophmores are definitely an impact even with low minutes.  Don't leave out #24, Dayton's coach yelled all night.... "don't leave #24!!!  She drained a few threes that stung.  Freshman #22 from Dayton is a good one, and their team is athletic.  The rematch in Dayton should be a good one, hopefully a cleaner game.  BH will win the next one, they just have better shooters.  If BH fouls less and lets them shoot they win by 20.
 21.

The reasons BH will win district are as follows: 1. BH has more talent returning on both sides of the ball than does Dayton. 2. Dayton is losing almost every key player, except the QB and he is not as good as either BH QB. 3. Deny is going to be a Div-1 athlete.  Townley is talented enough you could see a two QB system next year. 4. I expect Townley and/or Deny will play some defense next year in situational circumstances. 6. BH's O-Line and D-Line will be bigger than any other district team. 5. Dayton and BH will be the best two teams in district and BH will be better. Last but not least, because I have a crystal ball.   ;)
1 2 3 4 6 5 <---there you have it folks.... result of a BH diploma  ;D Sorry could't resist  :-*
Oh crap 5 comes before 6?  I need to call the math dept. and get that straight.
 22.
I still think BH wins around 24-21 (that's 4 tds and 4 missed xp's and not a field goal).  24-28 depending on how many extra points they can make.  Just as an FYI with BH and their we're great in all sports....just a quick check of this website shows more posts on football than all the other forums combined.  BH...good at other sports....no one cares.
"No one cares"?????  The kids playing other sports care.  Yes, football is king in TX, and that is okay with most Texans including me.  Obviously you don't have a daughter, or a son for that matter that doesn't have the size, speed, or ability to play football.  It is all about getting kids involved in something and less idle time.  I know you don't speak for all Dayton folks with that comment.  Most parents are trying to raise good kids and being involved in sports, band, debate, etc. is essential to achieving our goals. You're letting your hate for BH cause you to make ignorant comments. SSShhhhhhhhh!
 23. 17-4A is a tough district so Montgomery did play a tougher schedule.  BH has seven seniors that can play... The only question is how bad they want a trip to the state tournament..?  They will represent for the "east of 45" schools well I'm sure.  They typically start slow, but don't leave early if they get down.  Looking forward to seeing this matchup tonight to see if those State rankings and Chronicle polls mean anything. BH in 5, I want to watch more v-ball next week!
 24. Northshore vs. Madison Quarterfinal 2006(?) Astrodome.  Madison kicks off to NS and drive is stalled at midfield.  NS decides to punt.  It would be the only punt of the game!  Madison and NS scored on every possession following.  Everyone in the stadium knew the last team with the ball would win...  Vince Young's Madison offense scored with two minutes left (which appeared to be too soon) as NS would have the final possession and win the game... A dropped pass and a penalty later NS had about a fourth and 25+/- and ran either a draw or a middle screen and missed the first down after a measurement.  Final score 61-59 (pretty sure???) Saw in the Chronicle a few years later in a piece about the Astrodome that it was ranked in the top five greatest games ever played in the Astrodome (all sports, all levels)  I was so amazed at Vince Youngs ability that I went the next week to the dome to watch Madison fall to Austin Westlake (another barn burner!) Side note:  NS had about 7 sophmores on defense that year and just got shredded.  Two years later in 2008 when that group were Seniors they won a state championship (IMHO due to their defense)
