1.
I Graduated in 1986 from KVIlle.Guess what SFA showed up in a big greyhound ranked tops in state with a number one running back all suppose to whoop Kvilles rear end didn't happen. I was on a team that never lost to SFA. And your right did not use to much grammer in my post, did not think this was all about English class. Suppose with all the posters sayin I am worng will apologize to SCOOTER. Don't thin KVILLE has alot of bandwagon jumpers though, sen the fans stand and cheer those boys the last two years that we failed in the state championship game. I was their on the sidelines when we went winless, so I will be their one way or the other. and to the one that thinks I was sayin you don't know nothing about football never said that was sayin I have studied football for a long time. So I will retreat and watch those WILDCATS win it all.  ;D
Great times.  Remember it like it was yesterday.  SFA rolled up in their nice chartered buses knowing they were gonna win.  The running back was nice but the badass on the team was Kenny Ford their all everything QB.  He ended up at Oklahoma St.  They were introduced to the running back that I consider to be the best to play at Kirbyville, The Hammer Dexter Thomas #24.  Anyway, I think we won 21-7.  SFA was in our district the next 2-3 years after that.  They always had talented teams but they never beat us.  LOL!  I went to UT with Graylin Johnson (all-american in Football, Basketball and Track) another badass/nice guy from SFA.  We had our share of conversations about KVille/SFA.  LOL!

It's nothing new to EC and Newton to win...KVille on the other hand has had a garbage history so in their few good years they're having they've gotta talk big.
Garbage history??? Get REAL!!!! We were down in the 90's, what have EC done??? NOTHING! The best team you guys had was when Tremain Thomas was playing and yall were one dimensional then. Get off the thread man.
I would first like to say that I have nothing but respect for what Coach Barbay and Newton have done over the years.  When I think about Newton I think Curtis Barbay.  They have in my opinion the greatest football history in SE Texas. This is my opinion. If someone disagrees, oh well.  I was deeply saddened when I heard what happened and want the Newton Family to know that ya'll were on my heart here in Austin, TX.  I really can't believe this trash talk happened on this thread but oh well. I am a proud Kirbyville Wildcat.  I was born into the Newton-Kirbyville rivalry.  I have a lot of family members that attend/attended both schools.  That's part of the rivalrly.  For instance, K Bennett is my cousin and F Ford is my nephew.  Anyway, this is correct.  Kirbyville was down in the 90's.  But, when I played and many of these kid's parents played Kirbyville terrorized opponents.  Several of these kids share their fathers names and it brings back memories when I hear them announced (Aaron Breed, Anthony Minter, William Tyler).  Kirbyville and Newton entered the rivalry/district game with both in the top 10 three times and Kirbyville ranked higher twice.  In my four years Kirbyville was 3-1 against Newton.  The lone loss my junior year still stings.  Kirbyville entered the game having given up 6 points in 6 games. We were proclaimed to have the best D in region by a number of TV stations and newspapers.  Newton pounded us 27 - 0.  They ran the ball down our throats. Anyway, the year after I graduated Kirbyville was a respectable 7-3 but the downhill spiral began soon after. Anyway, sorry for the rant/old man story but the Kirbyville garbage history comment got to me.  And there are many that played before me that would take issue with it as well.
 3. In my opinion and of those sitting with me, WOS watered down the offense for the new QB and that made a difference.  We were all wondering if the QB could throw at all because they didn't throw until late.  I know they had the big play near the end of the first half but that was a half back pass.  Turns out he can throw.  If WOS had thrown the ball in the first half it could of been a different ball game.  When they threw they had open receivers. Their D was better than Bridge City's by a lot. Just my opinion.
