It hasn't been confirmed but several fans believe that when they have a tough opponent coming up they do things like write these notes and pass them out and say the other teams wrote them just to get the boys pumped up. We played a Florida team 2 years ago and there was a black R.I.P. wreath delivered to the fieldhouse with all the Katy's players name on it. It supposedly was delivered by the Florida team and it called us kitty cats and the fieldhouse was a litter box, etc... Kinda suspicious that everytime we have a big game something usually surfaces that the other school did. I don't buy it it's all the coaches trying to get the boys mad and pumped.  It tends to work thou.

[/quote]Well if they are using the same play then WB should have caught on to them and stopped them.  Believe me we have many other plays and some secret ones we could have used in case we would have been down. But if your winning why use them?  If the running game is working why should we pass?  If the passing game is working why should we run it?  And if we keep using the same play over and over 5 -6 times and winning why use anything from our bag of tricks? The goal is to win people and I think we accomplished that.

Last I remember football is about a team. Katy don't need stud players or D1 players. The whole team contributes and I'll take that over a one "stud" player on the team anyday. The only people that you should be mad at is THE WB DEFENSE!!!! Katy gets lucky? Yeah we get lucky to state year after year.  Oh I know I just figured it out, WB that new stadium you built it's "cursed"!  Yeah everytime from now on when you lose in the stadium it's because it's "cursed"! Now there's an excuse for you.

But the QB didn't have anything to do with Katy putting up 45 points, that was WB defense! With Reyes in there or not those points would have been still there. Yeah if Reyes was in there it might have had WB put up a couple of more points. But by the second half it would have been all Katy.  That's how Katy works they wear down their opponents, the defense causes fumbles, and in the second half make the adjustments neccesary to win their games. This is not luck because it happens to alot of other teams as well.  Look what happen to North Shore.  Now North Shore is back to putting up big scores. This is how Katy works it didn't just happen to you it happens to every team that has played Katy. Katy has played at a different level of football for several years now. I know it seems like the fans are arrogant and they do alot of smack talking. But I guess you have to be a Katy fan who has watched the team play all it's games year after year to see and understand how unbelievable this team really is. Katy just beat three very good teams by 40 plus points in each game. You think that is luck?  I don't think it is and I don't think other schools in Houston would say that. [/quote] Katy gets no credit because they dont have "style" points.....you can't name a "stud" player.....they dont have a fancy offense....Katy is a machine.....if anyone is lucky, it's WB, Katy decided to have "practice" in the second half and not run their regular offense. They ran the same pass play over and over until they hit it and then took the starters out. They used a road game against the state's 6th rank team as a "practice"..... [/quote] What would you have liked to see from Katy?  A win is a win. WB only has a good team because of Reyes he's all you have and that was proven tonight. You have one player that makes the team look good, where is the style in that? The way I see it is if Reyes was in there it was going to come down to who can put up and win by the most points. But as a Katy fan watching this team play for many years, game after game the defense would have tired them out and shut them down by 2nd qtr. You can believe that cuz I've seen it year after year, game after game. It takes Katys offense 1 quarter to get adjusted to the offense. It happen with North Shore and it happen with Alief Taylor. As far as I'm concerned is WB has allowed the previous teams they played to put up some points on them. If the defense allowed this then right there is a win, win situation for Katy!

I have alot of respect for WB for playing a team like Katy. We are not going to put anyone down here. Everyone played hard tonight. As for WB you guys are going to be alright. Katy had a couple of games in the past years were we got beat by a little Woodlands team.  I know WB will bounce back from this. In fact this will make you stronger and I feel sorry for the team WB plays next. I know nobody has said it but I would have liked to see what it might have been if the starting QB wouldn't of got hurt. I hope your QB is ok and you get him back for the next games. We also had like three players that got hurt. Hopefully all the players recover from their injuries and no one was seriously hurt. I have no doubt WB will win their district and be in the playoffs again. Good luck the rest of the sesaon WB. Much respect to you guys from this sincere Katy fan.

That way when Katy wins they won't make excuses and post on here that this is why we lost. Let's make a deal win or lose nobody get on here and make excuses afterwards why they lost. I don't want to here the refs weren't calling it, or our players were hurt and didn't play this game, etc... You win then you were the best team, you lose and you just got beat. Plain and simple. No excuses after the game please!

I will say this thou, last night at the JV game the WB coaches complimented one of the Katy receivers on a one handed catch he caught between two defenders. I just thought that was real classy of them to compliment the other teams player when it was caught on their side.  They could have not said anything but for them to compliment the other team on a play was very classy.  I know I talk smack and it's all fun and games. We are fans we are allowed to do that. But ultimately the game will be decided on the field and the football players.  This game is being hyped up so big and I guess that's good because it just means more money for the schools. Just hope it's doesn't turn out like a Mike Tyson fight where we wait this long and someone gets knocked out in the first round. More exciting when it's a close game. See you guys tomorrow I'll be there early hopefully they will open the parking lot gates early. Now I'm hearing they won't open till 3:30 pm.  If anyone knows what time parking lot opens let me know please. It will be decided on the gridiron! Good luck to both teams but you know who I'm rooting for. ::)

Well just got back from the sophomore/JV Katy/WB game.  WB got spanked by all the Katy Teams!!  We won big on all games. The only reason WB scored 6 points was because we had our 3rd stringers in there and it happen in the 4th quarter. If all our teams scored that BIG what do you think our varsity team with all the best players will do? Look up the scores son we took out baby bear and momma bear. Saturday it's on to poppa bear. It's coming WB you wanted it you got it. Saturday is time to handle our business as usual. SGT Reyes you know it's just smack talk all in fun but I will be there early with my family and I look forward to meeting you. I for one am also Mexican so you won't be the only one there. I'm bringing the Bruin Burgers to grill at the tailgate. ;D

We have so many great backups that Katys sophomore/J.V. team is stacked as well. WB will get the "FIRST" taste of our sophomore/J.V. Tigers butt kicking on Thursday. When they see how good the Katy sophomore/J.V. team beats "baby bear" and "momma bear" they'll wonder what the Varsity team is going to do to "poppa bear"!                            Bears Open Hunting Season Starts 9/18/10.  HAPPY HUNTING TIGERS!

I'm glad you like your new stadium.  To bad people won't enjoy it much when WB fans start leaving in the 3rd quarter because they'll be losing just like North Shore did. Reyes better get used to seeing the ground cuz our defense is very stingy. Plus WB doesn't have many players on the roster so they probably have some kids playing both sides. So just like last year they will be tired out by the 3rd quarter while the Katy Train and the KatyNation will be running full speed! The real upset will be when North Shore beats WB, worry about that. Oh I'll be the guy with the sign that says: "WHAT BUTCH SLAP"?

WeedBegone: I hope when Katy wins on Saturday you are on here after the game to talk about it. Not like most people who disappear off this blog. People hype this game up to much!  Katy will win as always and I'll bet all my money and everything I own on it. Anybody want to take this bet cuz I can use some extra cash. I also think our other team in our district can beat WB, you remember that little team from last year that kind of put a stop to you advancing in the playoffs........what were they called?  Oh yeah CINCO RANCH!

In my experience it's kind of like a job. I've seen coaches try to teach kids year after year and some just can't get it. Then they show another kid who never has played the position and he gets it right away. If you hire somebody for a job you want the person who learns it quicker and can get the job done. If you can't learn the job after it has been shown to you over and over again who do you think will get the job? Exactly! The parents should stay out of it and if your son can't play well that's life get used to it. You can complain to the coach that your son doesn't play all you want it doesn't help. It's not youth football anymore and in High School it's about winning I don't care what you say. It's not the coaches fault, especially if you have a school with a winning tradition.  I'm not going to tell a coach who has taken his team to playoffs and won numerous state championships who to play and who not to. Stop trying to be coaches parents!
