Fightingfitzpatricks you have the advantage of knowing me and talking about all the things I have done to offend you. I do not have the same luxury of knowing who you are. Even if I did find out who you were, I would not try to discredit you or your family. I have never had control over my job. Nobody in this business has that control. I will stand on my reputation, track record, and professionalism. Can you stand on yours out in the open? Many people in my profession, especially in my hometown, have been silenced or choose to hide in the corner and keep quiet about all subjects for fear of losing their jobs. It don't sit well with me to do that. I don't believe that I have said one negative thing. To meet with someone face to face and discuss differences is neither tacky or unprofessional. Parent conferences are encouraged and usually bring light to the subject for both parties. When good people meet with open minds most problems can be solved. I only know of one of his children (Chase) and he was a very good player. In my post I said one of the applicants had so and so, and it was all in fun from the beginning. Only an idiot would think I was talking about anyone specific. If you want to influence someone to demote me or fire me, then do your worst. Maybe it will be you who will make the final decision on my future in Kountze. Anybody that knows me aint buying your b.s. You brought my children up in your post and made fun of them for only participating in band. Why do you hate band? It is extremely important to some kids. It is also very successful in Kountze. Kountze as a coaching graveyard you say.....We have only had 18 head coaches since 1980. 31 years 18 head football coaches. Hell I was one of them. Coaches come and go. 2 maybe 3 winning seasons (depending on the hurricane year) in that stretch with no playoff appearances. Lots of factors are involved along with a lot of politics, jealousy, backstabbing, negative community involvement, the list keeps going. I heard one of the applicants had a son who could throw upper 90's from both the left side and the right side and hit over .900 with 714 homeruns last season, AS A FRESHMAN. This coach also had an 8th grade son that could leap over tall buildings and was faster than a speeding bullet. His wife is pregnant with a daughter that has the potential to get a scholarship in whatever sport she chooses as a 4th grader.  Swear to GAWD! SINCERLY, Paul Colton

I'm sorry your are offended by my suggestions that people should chose a path of openess and honesty. Voting is a right of citizenship. To have a secret voice that gives opinion and sways opinion against other humans and their job performance is subversive. It also affects innocent bystanders like students. This is an unfortunate situation for the coaches in Kountze. They feel wronged right now and feelings are hurt. I personally don't agree with what happened or how it happened.They will get over this pain and indignation and realize that it is in their best interest.  There are much better places to work. These are good people. They will realize a better future and be blessed and be a blessing to somebody else down the road. The new coaches that come here need to be supported. None of what happened here is their fault. They will try to build a program and get the kids to believe in it. The community needs to learn how to be supportive. There will be individuals in this community that will not agree with the new coach and how he does things. Don't let a few ignorant people with uninformed opinions speak for the whole community. Have you noticed T.V. crews always interview the dumbest people in town after the tornado to get the most colorful soundbites. Also, consider every kid involved in the program and not just your own. I am going to support the new coaches in Kountze because what has happened cannot be reversed. To me the kids as a whole come first and we need to make it the best for them. My name is Paul Colton. I am a coach in Kountze. I have heard many people through the years make uninformed statements about what is wrong with the football program. I have worked in many districts in this area as a coach and have enjoyed some success. I have spent 12 of my 25 years of experience in Kountze on 2 seperate occasions. There have been untold numbers of coaches, citizens, parents, teachers, administrators, board members, and flunkies that have expressed their opinions and helped to take action concerning what is wrong with the football program. In the last 30 years (since 1981) Kountze has had 12 different head coaches and close to 100 assistant coaches come and go. Every possible philosophy of football has been explored. Offenses, defenses, special teams, motivational strategies, weight programs, etc... Amidst all this exposure there has only been 2 winning seasons (full seasons) and no playoff games. The athletes here work as hard as any place I have coached. My suggestion is to try the one thing that has been lacking. Cosistency. Let the student athletes in Kountze have something they can count on. For the last 30 years Change is the only constant. Community members need to put aside their petty selfish desires to want to RUN things and commit to a healthy support system. Allow something good to take hold and support it.
