1. He has done a great job at Texas High. Good luck to Toby if he gets the Jasper job. Coach Norton at Texas High will come up with another top notch coach if coach Foreman leaves.
2. What a    great job the new TX High track coaching is doing. Undefeated in track at this point. Way to go,  Toby. Coach Foreman missed the Atlanta, Tx meet  do to his marriage this past Sat.            Congratulations and best wishes. The Tigers are  very  glad to have you at Texas High.
3. Thanks for the reply. The teams had two great games against each other, but it is tough on the JV and 9th graders finding a game. Also,  playing at a mid point is pretty  hard to do at times. Good luck to Vidor in 2012
4. Anyone know if this football series will continue  for the next two years ? ;D  Thanks !
5. The Texas High Tigers under coach Toby Foreman will participate in the Mustang Relays in Orange. Can anyone tell me what other teams come to this meet ? Glad to see Texas High add this meet. If interested, the Texas High track schedule for 2012 can be found at this link [Hidden Content] Also, anyone know if the Vidor/Texas High football series will be continued ?
6. The starting QB for the Tigers is the JV QB from last year. Levi Saxby  last years QB got a baseball scholarship .The Tigers also have a couple of other QB that could step in. Including coach Norton's son. One thing that has to mesh quickly is the ability for six new Varsity   coaches to come together. Toby Foreman (WOS) is one of them. He was hired, and is the head track coach at THS. In the scrimmage last night with 3A Texarkana PG the Tigers had to much speed and wore the undermanned Hawks down. Should be a good game with Vidor. The Pirates play very hard. This will also be a return trip to Lufkin for Texas High after many years. The Tigers played in the old 5A East Texas district for many years with the Panthers. Let's hope for a good game and no injuries to either team
7. I was unable to attend the Texas High - Texarkana PG varsity scrimmage, but the Tigers won 24-0. I understand the Tiger passing game and defense were a plus. Good crowd at Grim last night. The Tigers are going to open the season one week from today (Sat) against the Vidor Pirates. That game will be in Lufkin. Let's hope for cooler weather. Last year the Tigers defeated Vidor in overtime @ Longview      -
8. Texas High should be stronger on defense this year. The question mark is the offense. Texas High will have to replace Kody Sutton at running back, and find a new QB. The Tiger JV went undefeated last year so there is some young talent coming. Another question will be how all the new coaches mesh together. I think Texas High lost at least four coaches this year. Thanks for the information on Vidor.
9. Texas High will open the season this year in Lufkin against the Vidor Pirates. As a Texas High fan we hear very little in this part of the state about Vidor. I was wondering what is the outlook for the Pirates is this season? Last year in Longview, Texas High won in overtime against Vidor, in a game that could have gone either way. Any information will be appreciated.
10. Welcome to Texas High and district 13-4A coach Foreman. Texas High should be improved this year. They went to the playoffs last year, but lost in bi district to the John Tyler Lions. Also, it will be good to see you in the tack program. Like WOS the Tigers have plenty of speed. Texas High is a large 4A school, and plays in the 13-4A district with S.Springs, Mt. Pleasant, Royse City, Greenville, Sherman and Denison. Barry Norton is the Tigers head football coach and AD. He has produced a lot of great QB. Two that come to mind are Ryan Mallett, now a New England Patriot, and Nat Sorreson who is at Okla State. The Tigers will open the season with Vidor and play the game at Lufkin. Good luck to WOS and their coach this season.
11. Does anyone know for sure if the game between Vidor and Texas High will be played at Lufkin High. After last years double overtime Texas High win over Vidor, this might be a fun game to go see. Happy Holidays from East Texas !
12. Matt McClure from Texas High in Texarkana was hired tonight by the Atlanta, Texas ISD. McClure was DC at Texas High. Good luck to the Rabbits.
13. Vidor Pirates, You all played a tremendous game and Tx High was very fortunate to win. I think you all will do fine. Tx. High made a ton of mistakes, but Vidor made the game as close as it was. Your team, fans, and coaches are a class act. Go get em the rest of the year. I hope all the Vidor fans that saw the game will never forget the effort your team showed. This game was a nail bitter for sure. See you all next year in Lufkin
14. I thought the kickoff was at 7:30 PM not 7:00. At least that is what the Texarkana ISD web site shows. [Hidden Content]
15. The game will be played in Hallsville. The Bobcats are tough at home. Pleasant Grove brings a young team to Bobcat stadium this year. I support Texarkana teams, but I will pick the 4A Hallsville Bobcats to beat the 3A Hawks, by as score of 14-7. I hope I'm wrong.
16. Will try to listen in from Northeast Texas. Sounds like a good show . For Vidor fans, my question is this, what do you all know about Texas High and what kind of game do you expect to see from the Tigers ? Running, passing, long pass plays ??? All of these. Has anyone from Vidor ever been to Lobo stadium in Longview? I'm glad you all coming to northeast Texas, I hear next year we will be coming down south to your area. See you at the home of the Lobos come Friday night. Have a safe trip up.
17. This was a closed scrimmage at the Texas High indoor facility. The local Texarkana paper gave a good account of the scrimmage. No score was kept. Tiger plus - Forced three turnovers committed none. Passing game seemed better then expected. Very deep squad this year. Negatives - Way to many dropped pass attempts . Nothing said on kicking game. So that is a ? mark. PG - Played very hard. They simply were out manned. PG coach called Texas High a great football team. He said PG played tough, but we are "gassed now" We will see how it goes Friday @ Longview with the Tigers game against 4A Vidor from SE Texas. I have a feeling the season will go well for TX. High if they can stay away from injuries. The defense looks to be fairly stout. Texarkana PG is a 3A team. They are fairly young. They made the playoffs last year. To all the Vidor fans that will travel to Lobo Stadium this Friday in Longview, please have a safe and enjoyable trip.
18. Arkansas does have a 7A and 6A classification. The way I understand it is the class 1 A schools do not play football. Lots of tiny schools in Ark. The school that Texas High play, Bentonville  is large by Ark. standards around 3,100 in grades 9-12. If anyone is interested, click or paste this link below for more Ark H.S. sports information. 19. Thanks for all the welcomes . I appreciate good high school football. Your area has some outstanding teams. I'm also an avid track fan and know about the speed teams in your area . I'm not sure if you all have seen the Tigers football schedule for 2010. So I will post it with a few comments. A huge amount of travel involved this year for Texas High. Texas High Tigers 2010 Football schedule  : 1. August 27th - Vidor @ Longview Lobo Stadium - Season opener for the Tigers. Should be a great game. The last time Texas High played @ Longview Lobo Stadium was two years ago and the now 5-A Lobos roughed up Texas High. I might add, it is nice to see the Lobos back in 5A. 2. September 3rd - @ Jacksonville - Game will be played at the historic Tomato Bowl in downtown Jacksonville. The Tigers held off the Indians last year in Bi-District @ SFA. This will a tough  road game. 3. September 10th - Texarkana Ark High - This is the  "battle of the border" in the twin cities. The Tigers have roasted the Razorbacks of late. Game will be the home opener for the Tigers. Always a huge crowd. 4. September 17th @ Bentonville, Ark - About a three hundred mile trip one way to Northwest, Ark. Bentonville is the pre- season # 1 team in Ark (7A). The largest classification in Ark. This will be a very tough game for the Tigers. Playing in Arkansas is different then playing in Texas for sure. A great former Tiger star plays at the nearby University of Ark. That name is Ryan Mallett. 5. September 24th  Royse City - 13-4A district opener @ Home. A small 4-A school and a win should be expected for Texas High 6. October 1st- @ Dension - The Yellowjackets went a long way in the 4A playoffs last season. They were hit hard by graduation. Another long trip for Texas High, but this should be a great game. 7. October 8th - Sherman @ Home - A lot of football fans in 13-4A expect this game will decide district. The Tigers are at home, but this will be "barn burner" from start to finish. 8. October 15th @ Greenville - The Lions have a new coach. Texas High has been in the same district with Greenville from time to time. This could be a track meet with plenty of speed on both sides of the ball for  each team. 9. October 22 Mt. Pleasant @ Home. The other Tigers in 13-4A come to Texarkana to play. The year the Tigers won state 2002 the MP Tigers put the only L on the Tigers record. MP also has a new coach. 10. October 29th - @ Sulphur Springs - The Wildcats are a battled tested team that have made some long runs and won a state championship not long ago. Always a close game November 5th - Open Note - If Texas High and Sherman make the playoffs they will go into DIV I as they are the largest schools in the district.
20. Near Pittsburg Texas. I grew up in Texarkana, my hometown and still have a lot of family there. I'm about 70 miles away from Texarkana. I'm retired and live in the country. Pittsburg was my wife's hometown. I follow all the Texarkana teams, but I like the Tigers and their athletic program the best. I will admit 3A Texarkana Pleasant Grove is doing very well. This years 3A state baseball champs. PG also won the 3A title in golf.
21. Hello Vidor and SoutheastTx football fans, I'm from East Texas and not to far from Texas High. I thought I would give you a little information about Texas High football for the upcoming 2010 season. The Vidor game with Texas High may be played at Longview's Lobo stadium.??? Can anyone from Vidor confirm this ? Texas High is a very large 4A school. They reported 1989 students  for the UIL count. Texas High won state in 4A in 2002. This year the Tigers return a solid defense, but are looking for a new QB. They also have a good running back. The Tigers have good size, but are not huge. Texas High competes in  district 13-4A. Their schedule in 2010 has lots of travel. They are going all the way to Bentonville, Ark near Fayetteville for a game. Look for some fast athletes on the field for Texas High. They are well coached and I look forward to a good season. The Tiger fans travel well and if the game is indeed in Longview about 90 miles from Texarkana, there will be plenty of orange clad Tiger fans there. If anyone can confirm the game location in Longview, it would be appreciated. Longview has returned to 5A this year and will be away on the night of the TX. High Vidor game.     Any comments on Vidor's season outlook will be appreciated. Good luck to Vidor in 2010
