[/quote] Don't know who Razor is, but I can't imagine he will play 2nd over Schlett.  Schlett's had the position for the last two years.  He just needs the right exposure and he will be playing somewhere next year.

[/quote] the reason they quit the "wild dog" is because it was getting stuffed 95% of the time [/quote] Were you at the game?  The only time Nederland moved the ball consistently was in the wild dog.  If you hold it to short gains on first and second and then if produces a 10+ yard run on third down, you didn't really stuff it.   The dogs never had to punt on a drive run primarily out of the wild cat.  In fact, they scored TDs all three times they made it the focus of the offensive drive.   That's not to take away from Crosby.  They played very well and I bet they will win again next week. For me, the worst part of tonight was that they didn't even give the wild dog a chance on the crucial drive that started with with the Dogs down 4 with 5 minutes left.  I really thought the coaches should have looked 9 and the other seniors in the eye and told them that the game and the season were going to be in their hands.  TSonn showed so much heart all season, he was in what it turns out was his last football game, and they should have let him and the other seniors determine the outcome win or lose.  It's such a shame they didn't do that for those boys.

You're right.  But keep in mind that LCM fans you bring some of that on when they post that LCM would have won if their QB was 100%.  That gives Nederland little credit, and draws the obvious response from Nederland fans:  "What are you talking about, we beat the heck out of you."  Good sportsmanship means both winning and losing graciously. I'd like to follow-up on some of the early fun on the Sonnier debate.  TSonn is definitely my guy, but I have to say that ZSonn is a much better player than I realized.  I can see why LCM fans are so adamant that ZSonn is the best pure receiver in the district.  I also have to give your coaches real credit.  They do an outstanding job designing plays to get ZSonn open.  The motion and pick routes are well designed and well executed making it even harder to cover ZSonn.   By the way, I saw some great sportsmanship between the Sonnier boys last night both on the field and in the post game interview TSonn did with KFDM (making a point to mention what a great player ZSonn is).  I don't know if that part of the interview made the news, but I hope it did. This time, the grown-ups should take a lesson from the kids. I have a couple of questions: 1)  How many catches did ZSonn have vs Nederland last year when TSonn covered him head-up, man on man all night?  (Nill, if I remember right) 2)  How many TDs does ZSonn have in district play this year?  (TSonn has 10 despite missing one district game) Bonus question:  How many TD passes has ZSonn [i]thrown[/i] this year?  (TSonn's thrown 2 that I've seen)

[/quote] BE CAREFUL!  I  think it's the swollen indian heads from all that 10-0 talk that is killing PNG.  Nederland better not fall into that same trap. It was great, exciting win, but predicting world domination for the next decade may be a bit strong.  Follow the coach speak and "take it one game at a time"....or at least one season at a time! 7th grade!?  Have you seen the 5th graders?  The Bulldogs will surely dominate PNG in 2018!  ;)

[/quote] It may have just been poor coaching/clock management, but from the stands what I saw was more troubling.  It looked to me like the coaches quit on the boys.  On both the 3rd and 4th down plays that ended Nederland's offensive night, there were potential pass interference penalties right along the Nederland sidelines.  I expected the Nederland coaches to be going nuts.  They weren't.  I'm sure they said something, but there was clearly no passion.  That, coupled with leaving the 3 TOs on the board, makes me concerned that the coaches gave up.  I hope that isn't what happened because the kids never gave up.
