1. If everyone truly believes in all the theories about how the tougher schedule better prepares you for big games, how could Silsbee and HJ find any better qualified preparation than each other?
 2.
I was impressed with Silsbee's man to man defense...you don't see many teams playing a man to man defense the whole game. It seemed to me that HJ don't have a true point guard and that hurts them against Silsbee. The free throws were there difference in the game in my opinion, if HJ would have shot the same percentage that they did in Silsbee they would have lost. HJ and Silsbee also never get rattled by the scoreboard or what's going on around them, so you make a basket, you better not celebrate cause the other team will be down the court scoring another one. Good luck to both teams in the play-offs...
Then could you say that if HJ had shot the same free throw percentage in the first game as they did in the second that they would have won both games?
 3.
IT STOPS AT CENTRAL ,AND YES NEDERLAND WILL LOSE BOTH GAMES.
I offered this once but was politely declined.  I am willing to bet you $250 that nederland does not lose to both Central and Ozen in the second round.  How about it?
 4.
Nederland win this game they win District ,even if or when Ozen beats them, however as i stated a week ago this is were it stops (district winning streak) but it was a good run .
Does it stop at Ozen or at Central or does Ned lose both games?
 5.
I predict a HJ win 79-74!!! 8) 8) 8)
Valuable insight.  Thanks very much.
 6.
At the end of the 1st, it's: Silsbee  14 HJ        13 C'mon, Hawks!
Who do you think will win?
 7.
Just curious, by predicting a win by Central over Nederland, how is that "doubting" the Nederland team? Are the folks that are predicting Nederland to beat Central "doubting" and disrespecting the Central team and providing them with bulletin board material as well? Since when did picking a team to win a game be such a detriment?
Perhaps he feels that, based upon what Nederland has done this year plus the last two, that people fail to give Nederland adequate credit for what they have achieved via their predictions.( Many assume that the district always belongs to Central and Ozen and that simply is obviously no longer the case)  Maybe he feels sort of like a lone wolf on the board.  If one handles it properly, one can make bulletin board material out of most anything.  Whether or not it is effective is a separate question.  I think he is entitled to his interpretation of statements on here as much as anyone else is whether said opinion is accurate or not.
 8. The doubters dont realize what wonderful bulletin board material they provide- be thankful for them
 9. Santa- What's happened to you?  You have become decidedly more conservative/diplomatic in your commentary.  Are you not feeling well or is this just simply a NewSanta replacing BadSanta?
 10. Don;t forget there is a big "t shirt bet" riding on a couple of games including this one.
 11.
I agree with that,  I am just saying that we were already in foul trouble by the time the last period began(which is when I feel fatigue would have been a factor).  So we had to back off the aggresiveness some.  And was also a reason HJ was able to go inside more,  our  big men were there already.  I know the foul trouble was evident on both sides to a degree so I know it changed some play on that side as well. We comitted most of those fouls before fatigue was a much of a factor in my opinion.  As far as that Navasota game, I don't remember from looking at the stats and wasn't there so not sure how bad the fouls were.
I remember two specific instances where Prudhomme would have blocked two shots down low but couldnt take the risk because he was playing with 4 fouls.  But those situations force you to adjust.  If most of the fouls were committed before fatigue was evident, you can also credit that to an aggressive man to man defense.  There are many instances where the aggression created a turnover but many that created a foul.  If you are going to accept the rewards of that defense you are also forced to accept its liabilities, particularly against a competent team that is not likely to fold its tent and submit.  My guess is that if you calculate the average per district game foul count for the Tigers and compare it to the average per playoff game foul count, it will be considerably larger due to the calibre of competition.
 12.
Lazeek you did a nice job last night. Keep up the nice work.
Santa- Are you going to Sour Lake for the Rebroadcast?  There is still a welcome sign I had made for you last night and it was positioned right next to Lazeek and AAW.
 13.

Very good analysis. The only thing I may add would be that although the Tigers may have been tired I believe the pressure in the fourth wasnt as intense because of the foul trouble with two guards fouling out and another with four.  And the inside game for HJ benefited for the same reason with both of our bigs starting the fourth with for apiece and fouling out. Great game!
I think some may be taking this statement in the wrong way.  All I was trying to say is I think the changes and adjustments were more a result of foul trouble than fatigue.
I guess I look at it differently.  I believe you are much more prone to foul somebody when you are tired than when you are fresh.  Your feet move a little less quickly and you tend to try to compensate with your hands-  unless the refs are extremely liberal, that is going to generate some more fouls particularly against a team that is a sound one.  If you are playing "Our Mother Mary of The Blind" you probably wont get as tired or as tested and hence less likely to get in foul trouble.  First thought that comes to mind is what kind of foul situations did Silsbee experience against Navasota ( if what I heard is true about Navasota being fairly fast and competent, I would guess there was a heavy foul number in that game also)
 14.
If he hits the weights, he will be close to unstoppable.
If he hits the weights, that will certainly help but I hope he dedicates some of that weight time to jumping rope.  I believe it will help him more
 15. Naw I don't know any of that.  I was too busy following Goose Tatum.
 16.

Often times role player's efforts tend to get overlooked in the midst of who scored the most points. Both Silsbee and HJ have several athletes that fit this mold.  How about a point guard that resist taking a shot and makes an assist, the guy that grabs double digit rebounds, a hustler thats plays great defense or as simple as a player who consistently makes clean passes against pressure.  By the way,  I would take my chances with Shawn on a bad night versus most others on a good night.  Great kid on and off the court.  It amazes me when folks belittle others without a second thought especially when the accuser has never walked in the shoes he criticized.
I believe the correct word is E N V Y.
At age 74, I've seen a little basketball talent over the years.  I know, I know - the game is a great deal different since my day, but I've kept up pretty well over the years.  All of this is to say that I agree that Prudhomme is one of those rare talents.  The only negative that I see is that he has a "Thoroughbreds" nature and that gets him in more trouble than he needs on the court.  With a little more discipline, the top of that can is off.  I hope that the coming maturity will do the trick because he has the talent and coaching. 8) PS:  Anyone out there old enough to remember when girls basketball was played "Half court" with 6 players on the floor?  If yes, we need to talk. ;)
I'll bet you looked up to and admired Paul Arizin and George Mikan.
 17. I understand what you are saying.  Perhaps speechless meant that you don't get to where Prudhomme is without playing hard.
 18. Just tell BadSanta thats the way you want it and it will happen
 19. It's not that far fetched.  Hj played Wheatley in a warm up game a few years back.
 20.
Good question!
Nope-  We all know that they never play anything but "patsy" schedules
 21. Affirmative on both counts
If they played another team similar to them, the score would not be in the 100s
