Hemphill will be the champions out of this district. now there are different scenarios for woodville to make playoffs, it all depends on the Kirbyville/Shelbyville game tomorrow night. If Shelbyville loses and Woodville wins against Newton tomorrow and Shelbyville Friday, then there will be a one game playoff between Shelbyville and Woodville for the 3rd and final playoff spot. If Shelbyville beats Kirbyville, then Woodville will have to win out and hope Kirbyville loses to Hemphill Friday night. If that happens, then there will be a one game playoff between Woodville and Kirbyville for the final spot. Woodville hurt themselves by losing to Hemphill. They don't control their destiny anymore.

Now that basketball season is over in Woodville, track season begins for one of the best athletes in our area, Calib Hadnot. Hadnot, who has already signed to play football at SFA, is ready to put the spikes on and show the state of Texas his speed. I've seen this guy run track last year, and play football, basketball, and baseball this season. He is a pure athlete with ridiculous speed. I know it's a little biased because I've watched him perform so much this year but I look for him to do some crazy things in track this season. Coldspring is the first meet for him and we'll see what he does. Any other guys to look out for this track season?

That's because the new rules at Woodville won't allow them to play during school hours. The superintendent doesn't want players missing a ton of school therefore if a game can be scheduled for later in the day then it has to be.

I hate to agree with Bucof2010, but facts are facts and Woodville won't be in the battle for 2nd place. They're losing a great O-line and D-line and they have no size on the lineman coming up. They're sophomore center got a lot of experience on varsity and played most of the season and that's about all they have coming back. The biggest hurt the Eagles will have is at the quarterback position. They're losing one of the best athletes Woodville has ever seen and they have no one even close to his caliber for next year. I'd like to see them win 2nd but it just won't happen this year. It'll be between EC and Anahuac with Newton taking first

Doesn't the host team of tournaments in all sports play the schedule to their advantage ???

You can't compare scores from games in November and mid December  ??? I understand hudson was playing basketball the entire year at that point but this is the regional tournament, these teams didn't make it here just because of luck. i do think silsbee will win but don't count a team out this deep in playoffs

We all know that you were talking about silsbee and kountze, that's the only teams they lost bad to. And that was my bad, I thought you said WOS but you said Nederland. Yea that's great to play a great team really well but it's the playoffs. Everybody's 0-0 and it's not about past games, it's about one game and we'll see who comes out and plays that way tomorrow night. i think this one has the potential to be very good

Woodville's schedule was very easy this year. They played no competition which may be why they're at home instead of tyler this weekend

I have to agree, Caleb Schexnider is one of the best goalies in the area! Not too many goals get past him

I graduated from Lufkin but have spent a lot time in the last several years around Woodville, following their sports as well. this year's team is doing some pretty good things that this basketball program hasn't seen in a while. Yes this year's district weaker than in years past but this group of kids will accomplish a lot in the postseason. I've seen both teams play, and it's a pretty evenly matched game. Both have good point gaurds, Woodville's is better at getting to the rim, and then you have two scorers in Anahuacs #3 and Woodvilles #23. whsalum, how you can you make your predictions on a game because anahuac played well against WOS and woodville got beat bad by silsbee?  ??? i agree with wildcat 29, yea woodville lost one in newton but anahuac lost at home to EC?? let the two teams play and we'll see who's right
