1. vidor should take this one.  lets hope that green has been working on the bats.  the team cant take what happened to them friday into this game.  look for vidor to play with some aggression.  lets go vidor.
2. post em up here.  also 13U teams. thanks
3. when the bats wake up this guy will be eating his words.  the vidor team is solid.  its been a bad 2 games with the bats being flat and a couple errors but its baseball.  coach green will fix it.  the 2nd half will be fun.  as long as trae knows he has his def behind him the pirates will be just fine.
Whatever "moderate weight training" that Duke basketball players did this week is vastly different than the Duke off-season football team's workouts.   Since non-school youth sports are not going to disappear anytime soon, it seems in order to build successful high school programs, coaches should imbrace these activities by encouraging students to participate, holding coaching clinics for youth coaches, and discussing with parents training and workout programs, rather than (as some seem to indicate) allowing anomosity to develope between school coaches and parent/youth coaches. maybe because its not football season...once basketball season ends i bet the basketball players get a workout very similar to the football program.  colleges and universities want strong fast players each year.  this doesnt happen with not working out.  when i was in college we had to workout during season and off season, ofcourse it was lighter during the season.
Texas High is a good 4a team that went 7-4 last year and 9-2 in 2008 including playoff wins both years.  Bridge City seems to be on the upswing and has a few athletes coming back.  Kirbyville has been one of the best teams in the area over the last few years no matter their size. I don't think this schedule is that bad, especially after last years pre-district schedule.  At least they are not playing all of the TAPPS teams again.
TXHS has been on the down fall the past 2 years.  i heard this was a complete rebuilding year.  BC had those few players last year, i dont see them being anywhere near where they were last year.  i talk to the trainer at KHS often and ive asked him how it was going to look next year.....he said he doesnt seem this team being where they have been in the past.  but yeah i agree with you on not playing the TAPPS teams.
6. me too.  i dont go to HF but i would like to know.  they need someone who can turn it around.
IBE' (EBAY) McDaniel- (is the best player in the last 15/20 years at KTZ and maybe ever) -- could play any position.... started at the 5 spot at 6'1" and also played the 1 spot .... could use either hand and go either way(ambidextrious - sp.?)...could shoot lights out from the 3 and post up on 6'7" guys..  was one of a group of about 5 guys(IBE, WAYLON LOWE, BRAD HADNOT, JOSH HANCOCK, and CHRIS ANDERSON) that brought KTZ out of the celler dweller that most of u youngsters dont seem to remember in the early 90s when ktz would go 5-25 year after year.....
i know all those guys...they were part of the list goes on and on.
10. nothing serious happened to this young man did it?  i hope just a few bump and bruises.
11. i think wos takes this one.  i think wos is a sleeper team in the area.
Warren doesn't have a rich basketball history as of late but they used to put some really god teams on the floor. If I had to make a list it would have a lot of old schoolers on it: 1-The Whites-Reuben,Daniel,Wayne and Jessie.Throw in a couple of sisters and they beat most teams. 2-Jessie and James Wolf. Two great high school players who went on to the NFL. 3-Jimmy Rawls-He played in the late 60's I believe and could score 50 on any given night. 4-Johnathan McNeal-Big guy with a soft shot who could fill it up. 5-Jacob Terrell-Great player on a average club. 6-Jerrod Walles-Spent more time on baseball/football but was the real deal. 7-Alan Danos-Didn't play but 1 year but was the piece that made Warren go. 8-Paul Sims-Shot over 80% from the FT line and over 40% from behind the arc for his career. 9-Fred Dunham-PG-Could single handidly beat the press. These guys are not intended to be in any particular order but if I had to pick 1 as the best it would we Reuben White. This guy cut 4 fingers severely on his right hand in an ag shop accident and learned to play lefthanded and never missed a beat.
What about Ken Horuchuck(spelling?) & Bucky White from '81 - White went on to the Houston Oilers. Those were the 2 best that I've seen from Warren.
no zane hoffpauir in that list? crazy
15. i will put my predictions up after 3a gets finished.
16. hope this young man and his mother are both ok
17. the bats need to warm up for vidor.  the past 2 games the bats have been taking a nap.  WAKE UP.  its going to be a close one.  vidor pulls it out.
18. if anyone who has tried to put together an irregular puzzle and knows how hard it is to put together....thats what this district is....we wont know until the last game is played.  minus jasper and bridgecity out of the 1-6 the top 4 teams in the area come from this district.  except the games against ozen and central, i really hate to say that, each game is a game for a playoff spot.  the four that make it...vidor, png, lcm and nederland.
19. 34-0 to me means that the other team just plain out sucks or the other team was that d$mn good, no matter how you view this. on as off. view....  a coach should never tell his players NEVER to stop playing their game.  the only thing i would have done as a coach here is make the kids work on switch hitting then i would let the PLAYERS swing or bunt whatever they wanted to work on but it had to be from the switch side.  i would keep on playing ball though. advancing on passballs or shot to the gap should be played as if the game was on the line every play. if the kid wants to steal, let him, its his stats not ours.  if he wants to get into a "hot box" and work on that let him.  the kids would be playing their own game.  on the def side...... subs would be in for sure and in the spots they need the most improvement on.  noone would be in a "regular" position and mr. ragarm would be on the mound! play ball
20. HOW ABOUT WE JUST LOVE THE GAME....IT DOESNT MATTER WHOS PLAYING.
21. close game.  there are some major pitchers in the area this year. 3a looking nice in the state polls.  way too go guys.
22. im starting to think hester puts himself into bad spots just so he can actually start pitching!! <btw...i know he doesnt>  when this kid is on he is on.  this is going to be a fun year in 20-4a.  its only game 4!!!
