  1. Neither of these teams ever seem to turn in their scores to any media outlets.... Anybody have a final score on this one?
  2. What was the actual score of the Liberty-Shepherd game?
  3. Unfortunately, basketball doesn't get the coverage that football does, so I don't think there's any site that does comprehensive rankings, top to bottom. The sheer number of games to track and a lack of coverage of many teams would make it almost impossible to come up with such a list. Another list of rankings can be found at [Hidden Content]. They go down to about a Top 50 in each classification. (Click on "Spectrum Scoreboard Central" and then scroll down for your classification.) Be thankful for SETXsports.com, which provides such great coverage for the teams of Southeast Texas. Most regions don't have anything near as informational as this site.
  4. (This was originally in another thread, but here's a new thread for Friday's games.) Current Standings: Splendora 4-0 Cleveland 3-1 Coldspring 3-1 Tarkington 2-2 Liberty 0-4 Shepherd 0-4 Friday's Games: Cleveland (3-1) at Tarkington (2-2) -- The Indians put themselves right back into the thick of the race with their big win over Coldspring. Are they getting their swagger back? Tarkington needs a win to stay in range of a playoff spot, as a loss in this game would possibly put them two games back of the top three with 5 games to play. Splendora (4-0) at Coldspring (3-1) -- Wildcats' defense has been stifling, as nobody seems to be able to score 50 points on them. A win in Coldspring puts them squarely in the district driver's seat. Coldspring must bounce back quickly from a humbling loss in Cleveland. Liberty (0-4) at Shepherd (0-4) -- Somebody HAS to win...
  5. The Chronicle has 56-52 for the Tarkington-Liberty score. Which is correct? (I guess it really doesn't matter, since both agree that Tarkington got the W.)
  6. Scores from Tuesday (1-23-07) Coldspring 70 Cleveland 84 Tarkington 56 Liberty 52 Shepherd 44 Splendora 60 Updated Standings: Splendora 4-0 Cleveland 3-1 Coldspring 3-1 Tarkington 2-2 Liberty 0-4 Shepherd 0-4 Friday's Games: Cleveland (3-1) at Tarkington (2-2) -- The Indians put themselves right back into the thick of the race with their big win over Coldspring.
  7. Tarkington (1-2) at Liberty (0-3) -- Both teams are trying to stay in the race. Tarkington lost two close ones in two days last week to Splendora and Coldspring, so they need a win to get their groove back. Liberty showed promise in their first game against Coldspring, but have faded since then. They need a win to keep the playoff spots in sight. Shepherd (0-3) at Splendora (3-0) -- Splendora's doing a number on people defensively, routinely holding people down in the 40-point range. Shepherd's winless in district, but they almost snuck up and bit Cleveland in the backside Friday night. Splendora's won their three games by an average of 11 points, while Shepherd's lost their three by an average of 14. Coldspring (3-0) at Cleveland (2-1) -- The game of the night in the district. A Cleveland win puts them right in the thick of the race, and it's always tough to get a win in Cleveland's house.
  8. How has the Castleman kid been doing lately? Is he still putting up good numbers?
  9. What does Chireno do to get all those 100-point games? Do they have lots of 3-point shooters? Steals off the press? They've really put up some offensive numbers in the scores I've seen on here and other sites!
  10. All three are looking pretty good so far. WO-S has last year's experience to build upon, but they've had a hard time with H-J this season. Silsbee could surprise a lot of people, though. As WO-S showed last season, though, it's all about getting hot at the right time. Best of luck to Coaches Sutherland, McCarter, and Williams.
  11. Splendora 58 Liberty 45 Coldspring 63 Tarkington 55 Cleveland 71 Shepherd 68 *All three home teams lost. New Standings: Splendora 3-0 Coldspring 3-0 Cleveland 2-1 Tarkington 1-2 Liberty 0-3 Shepherd 0-3
  12. Does anyone out there know if there have been any matchups between 21-3A and 22-3A this year? Maybe in tournaments?
  13. Tonight's games could both be good ones. Splendora and Tarkington will be battling to see who stays in first place, and Liberty and Cleveland will be looking to stay only one game back. Splendora's been looking good here lately, especially after smoking perennial favorite Cleveland, 52-34, in the district opener. They also have a streak of five games going in which they've held their opponents to less than 40 points. Tarkington, however, is off to a great start as well, with a 16-5 season record, according to the Chronicle. Liberty lost a close one to Coldspring in their opener, while Cleveland fell hard at Splendora. Liberty will be playing to prove that their first game wasn't a fluke, while Cleveland will be looking to show that theirs was. Does anyone have any information on game times for these?
  14. I'm pretty sure that both those schools were in session on Tuesday. Splendora was the only school in the district that I'd heard about being closed on Tuesday.
  15. Coldspring 86, Shepherd 59 Other two games rescheduled for Thursday, I hear...
  16. Has anybody heard if these games are all going to be played tonight? I saw on the news that Splendora's out of school today.
  17. Perhaps you should pay more attention in your English class, rather than trying to pump yourself up on this message board...
  18. Tarkington (1-0) at Splendora (1-0) Shepherd (0-1) at Coldspring (1-0) Liberty (0-1) at Cleveland (0-1) This is shaping up to be a very entertaining district race over the next few weeks. What are your picks?
  19. Coach Vela must really be pushing all the right buttons in Splendora. To beat Goodrich twice in a week was impressive, but the message that was sent by the 18-point beating of Cleveland is loud and clear. The Wildcats are for real, and they may have put themselves in the position of being the 22-3A favorites. If they beat Tarkington on Tuesday, look out...
  20. How did Liberty do the other night against Oak Ridge? If they were able to hang with a 5A, then they must be pretty stout.
  21. Looking at their record, Coldspring's lost something like 10 games this year. They're the cream of the crop? You'd all better watch out for Tarkington. Their record's something like 13-3, I think...
