Welcome, and I couldn't agree more.  This site is very entertaining and informative, but besides that, its great for scouting other teams so you know what your up against.  I can't really use any of the info I gather till the playoffs, but it's fun to hear the predictions and smack talk.  When the playoffs do come around, i'm ready for our round 2 match up against a setx school.  I know the players and i'm familiar with the teams, so I can answer any questions my fellow cub fans have while were watching the game.  The very knowledgable and friendly people here, (for the most part) make it what it is.

[/quote] The paper says coach Long won't decide till Wednesday.  There's no doubt that Wellbrock is our best pitcher, but Schlottmann has been pitching really well.  If our offense would've helped him out against Friendswood, it wouldn't have went to a third game. (he only gave up 1 run).  I wouldn't be surprised if he started Schlottmann and saved Wellbrock for the final.  Unless of course he's needed sooner than that in order to save the season.  He seems to be pretty confident in both, but i'm sure he'll make the right decission.  You become as successful as he has been, by making bad decissions.  (Though I have questioned a couple of them this season)  As you've seen before though; when in doubt go with Wellbrock.

Good luck Jasper, from one region 3 champ, to another!  Wish I could catch yall's game cause i'm sure it will be a good one.  Problem is it won't be at Dell Diamond, but I will get to catch the Evadale game.  Awesome time of year....  Maybe region 3 will sweep state.  Not likely, but maybe...

Anybody else think Loux is the best option to stop Miami's potent offense?

I would start Loux...  It is do or die and Miami IMO is one of the top 3 gems in the country.  Atleast the top 5.  Go Ags!!!  Whoop!!!

8-5 Brenham....    Don't know alot about Rider, other than their usually good and have been ranked most of the year.  Pretty even match up, but I think the Friendswood scare woke us up.  Our guys were in this spot last year, so they know what it's all about.  They took that lose hard and I'm sure they'll be doing everything possible to avoid that feeling again.  Go cubs!
