Hey guys, I posted this on "The Coach's Office" thread, but it looks like no one has been in that thread for a while so I am coming to a much more active one. I'm currently going to Lamar and I am majoring in Kinesiology. After this semester I'll be a junior. I'm looking around for a volunteer coaching job in football or baseball. I'll take anything at the high school level, middle school level or any other leagues outside of school. I would really like to get some experience before I graduate and get a feel of what it'll be like in the real world. I'm looking forward to a great opportunity! Honestly in my opinion it really doesn't matter if the game is in Nederland or PNG, each team fills their side of the stands. It is almost like the game is at a neutral site. Now, Nederland did get embarrassed by Vidor last week. Just remember that Nederland had several starting DB's out with injuries and it was Forney's first game back from his injuries. Judging by the score of the PNG games, they could very well be 4-0 and all of their games have been high scoring games. With that being said I don't think PNG will blow out Nederland like some people are saying. It'll be a good, hard fought game. In the end I don't think Nederland's defense will be enough to stop PNG's offense. 31-21 PNG. I really hate to say it, I'm a hardcore Nederland fan, but you can't avoid the truth and the truth is that Nederland has been bombarded with injuries and just doesn't have the talent that they usually have. The truth hurts. Anyways, good luck to both teams. Play hard and show good sportsmanship!

There are a lot of teal down here at McFadden, but opening weekend might be a little dull. We didn't get enough rain this year in my opinion. Little rain = salty water. Salty water = little food. We'll see how it turns out though. Hopefully we'll have a good migration to make for a good opening weekend!

Marcus Jackson is playing QB?

1. They have taken the deep pass option from Bevil. Lamar can't win without the deep pass. 2. SFA's D-Line is dominating Lamar's O-Line right now. 3. SFA's hurry up offense has the defense on their heels out of breath. Overall - I know it only halftime, but by the looks of things it isn't going to get any better unless Andre Bevil turns into superman. Props to SFA, they did their homework and came prepared. On the flip side, every team needs a good kick in the butt. Hopefully Lamar doesn't carry this into next week against SHSU. They are very very capable of beating SHSU. They just need to stay on track and learn from their mistakes.

You just made a lot of enemies in Nederland. Why would you call out teammates in a public newspaper? That is just looking for trouble. This is down right classes. I hope the UIL denies his request to play football at PNG. No disrespect to PNG, but after all it is for athletic reasons in my opinion. The coach makes the decisions, the team follows the decisions. I am a huge A&M fan and I personally think Dionte would be a great addition to the Aggies. All he needs to do is work on his speed. He already has the build for TE, but if he ever wants to man the offense at QB he will need to be faster, much faster.

The Cleveland Indians select Kirby Bellow! I expected him to be picked, but not in the 29th round! I didn't think he had that much exposure. Think of what 3-4 years of experience at a national championship contending school will do for him down the road. Congrats to Kirby and best of luck to him at UT.

It is remarkable that 2 of the players on this team went in the first round of the NFL draft this year! Just goes to show the kind of talent SETX puts out  :D

Lately I've been hearing rumors that Forney has been getting strong looks from A&M and that he verbally committed to go play QB over there. Now i'm not saying it is impossible, but it is kinda hard to believe after he has only been QB for half a season, might have been less than half but i can't remember. But he does have a full year of playing QB ahead of him. Can anyone fill me in on this?

My uncle is the assistant coach for Bush and I was at this game. Hands down the best high school basketball game I've ever been to. Great effort by both teams, hard fought on both sides. Its a shame for Bellaire to come all this way (#5 in the nation) and lose. But great effort by Bush to not give up when the momentum swung to Bellaire late in the game. Congrats to Bush!!

I'll admit we are having an off year, partly due to injuries. And I will admit PNG is better than us, but the reason for this post was because no one was giving the Dogs any respect at all. There was a post earlier this week that said "Midcounty Madness...Who Will Win?" and everyone was predicting PNG to be like 35 or 40 point favorties. So I countered with a post (its the one in the italics above) and once again everyone went haywire on me saying that I was stupid and I didnt know what I was talking about. Well it turns out i was right, and to all you who thought i was stupid and ignorant

A game against Brabers Hill that was way closer than it should have been, Crosby (Enough said), and an interception away from overtime against LCM. Wait, who? Thats right, LCM. PNG is just like Ole' Miss, they have yet to prove a thing. Lets take a look at what it would be like if PNG had Nederland's schedule and vice versa. PNG would be 1-3 with their only win coming against Ozen. They would have gotten crushed against WOS, Waller and Friendswood. And Nederland would be a sure 4-0. This is gonna be a better game than everyone thinks, just watch. You PNG people don't want to believe this but its true. Remember this? Looks like I was right. The Dogs kept it close, and if it wasn't for 3 fumbled snaps I bet they would have won. So I'll say it again, if you predicted the score to be complete blowout get a hold of yourself. PNG isn't that great.
