Monsignour Kelly [b]Catholic[/b] High School... Im pretty sure that there would be no disrespect towards another teams prayer... I just think the EC fans are a little aggravated by a little private school with 350 kids putting up 54.....

Kelly and Liberty played a scrimmage thursday night @ about 7 30... The scrimmage format was 3 series of 10 plays offense and 3 series of 10 plays defense. Then one 16 min running quarter at end. Kelly started on offense. Their first ten plays were very unsuccessful.. They could not move the ball at all, and looked slow. Libertys defense did not do anything spectacular but did manage very well on the first series. Liberty's offensive series had the same feeling.. But it was more of a dominating performance by the Kelly Defense.. I dont believe Liberty gained a first down on the first couple possessions. Kelly's second possession on offense composed of their second team offensive line and backup quarterback. Liberty stopped them on the first four plays. Kelly's back up quarterback completed a 40+ yard pass to Nick Scrapps which put them in good position to pound the ball into the endzone.. Melvin Adderton scored the touchdown. That was the first score of the ball game. Libertys 2nd possession was a little more successful than the last.. Led by great running by their quarterback and their tough nose runningback they drove the ball into the redzone during their first 8 plays. In the redzone however, they did not have as much luck. On the next two plays they gained 1 yard.. Apparantly the Liberty coach asked Mike Long if they could have 5 more plays. Kelly stopped Liberty on the 1 yard line 4 straight times in a row. On the fifth, Hardin put the ball in the Endzone. Kelly's 3rd possession looked in tact and balanced. QB Dakota Eddins connected with Nick Scrapps for a nice gain. They proceeded to run the ball and finally score again .The Touchdown consisted of a 25-30 yard run by Tailback Patrick Cook. Liberty's offense started clicking on their third possession. Kelly's defense could not stop Libertys quarterback from running during the series.. Liberty scored on a 15 yd run from their quarter back. Briefly, In the 16 min running quarter, Dakota Eddins completed a 60 yd touchdown pass.. Liberty did not score in the quarter.. The score ended 3-2 Kelly

Kellys 1st team defense is Solid.... In the first eight plays of the scrimmage Hardin didnt gain a first down.. By Design Kelly's Defensive corrdinator took the first team out of the game after those first 8 plays.... Kellys second team gave up 2 touchdowns in 2 plays... That raises big questions about their depth on defense... Kelly's first team d gave up one touchdown on a fade towards the end of the scrimmage. that was it... Defensively Kelly held it own.. In a game situation the outcome would have been much different.. Offensively Kelly led 2 good touchdown drives... They have mostly sophmores on the line but did well ..... Eddins was very efficient but overthrew nearly every deep route.. Eddins threw short quick passes and led them down the field twice on a Colin Fornet touchdown run, and Patrick Cook Touchdown run... Kelly's sophmore kicker almost hit a 55 yard field goal near the end of the scrimmage.. As far as Hardin goes, they are a tough scrappy football team.. they have very good athletes at the skill positions.. small offensive line.. they threw the ball well aside from the 2 interceptions of course... Their running back is big and powerful but seemed only effective against kelly's 2nd team defense
