No look will appretiate this... Being a Huntington homer I can say this before this thing is over, I am proud of our boys for getting down and still playing and not getting down. That has been a problem for as long as I can remember. Good job boys.

Sorry, y'all were right. The scrimmage is Thursday in Kirbyville.

I am pretty sure they scrimmage Huntington on Saturday. I'm interested to see how Huntington's defense does against Kirbyville's talent. If you're use to Huntington of the past three or so years, forget it because they will look completely different. Defense will be much improved and offense will look different as well. Should be a good scrimmage to tighten things up before the season kicks off for both teams.

Finally someone getting back to the thread topic. Huntington running a new offense with a sophomore quarterback this year. He did float a few long balls but I feel that that will be corrected. Great kid with a lot of talent and smart too, he will correct but is young. Defense does look stronger this year too, seemed to show a lot more "go get em" than in previous years. The seniors are a group who were on varsity as sophomores and now have some experience behind them so that obviously helps.

Yes just the live quarter. There were more TD's scored in the other parts of the scrimmage but it's harder to tell what's going on at that part. I have since been informed by a "Huntingtonite" with more football knowledge than myself that Huntingtons INT would have went for a TD as well, but that's a matter of subjective opinion.

For what it's worth teams looked pretty even overall. Huntington/Woodville live quarter tied 1-1 but Woodville had an int that most likely would have been returned. Huntington/Hemphill tied 0-0. Didn't stay for Hemphill/Woodville. Woodvilles running back was real quick, hemphills quarterback is obviously a good athlete and Huntingtons young QB showed some promise in his first varsity "action" (glorified practice). All defenses looked pretty good and tackled pretty well being the first scrimmage. Anyone else who was there I would like to hear your thoughts.
