1. Jimbob82, Well said! In addition to keeping the kids active, it keeps the kids motivated to keep working hard during the season when all seems lost.  Take this year's Nederland team for example...  it would have been easy for the players and coaches to pack it in early instead of learning from the adversity presented to them...  they will take that experience with them forever!
2. NO! So why is everybody so upset about 4 playoff teams???????
3. Still shocked how a kid leads his team in tackles and doesn't even get honorable mention! And the coaches who know football make these selections???
4. How does a leading tackler on a team not even get honorable mention???
5. Cougtalk finally shows signs of intelligence... :)  I was beginning to think he was mentoring the running back that was compelled to talk more smack to our cheerleaders!
6. So what number are you so I can be watching for you???
7.
I tell you what why don't we get a couple of you bulldogs fans who say "Crosbys gonna get stomped" come watch the game with me. Ill make you eat crow from gun to gun. Someone said "if we can get pressure on merka" ... we do realize that Merka has more rushing yards than passing yards? Unless you get some massive penetration no chance of preventing 3 yards a pop... Dayton game he consitently got 5 yards a carry. Lee corso time Thier gonna pound it pound it pound it again. Score? don't care Defense shuts-out those little dotsons.
Coug, you should go over to the BH thread if all you want to do is talk smack!
8. Who is playing in Nederland this week?  Maybe Bruney had a new turf installed already... ;D
9. I'll guarantee you this--there's gonna be some hittin' going on in Shenandoah tomorrow! GO DOGS!
10.
I think you should call the trip back to PNG the trail of tears. I have seen the videos and it is hard to believe that nobody has beat them yet. We will win 21-7.
OMG!  YOU must not have been in attendance for the first game of the season... MCM Rules!
11.
Graydog probably not they get feeds from paper sportswriters and form a opinion for a living. They are not always correct but neither is anyone else.
liltex, "that's why they play the games", right?  I know someone great said that...  GO DOGS!
12. From a 46+ year old, TELL him to get back in the program, talk to the captains about how he reall wants it, and then he'll never have any regrets for quitting...
13.
;D ;DDayton by 4 scores.
liltex, get real... I am not from Vidor, BUT i've seen vidor and no way by 4 scores!
14. Vidor controls the ball and the game with their offense.  They are the master of disguise... see if you can tell who gets the ball... Good luck Pirates!
15.
DCTF sportswriter has Crosby in the regionals in Div 1-look in the bracket projections there are 4 differant writers opinions-Stewart,Hall,Padilla,Forrest.
Have they all seen BOTH teams play, lately???
16. Good point!  My team is 5-5 and I believe they are going to beat a team that went 7-0 in their district.  And they will if they play like they can play...  I think the concept here that I was addressing was criticism towards having more teams in the playoffs, and how a team that went undefeated could lose to a team that did not win a lot of games in the regular season.  Personally, I like the idea of having more teams getting extra games past district. It gives the players that had some hard luck early in the season something to look forward to and something to play for when all seems Lost!  Otherwise, they could just give up and the coaches could give up and what is that worth??? (Although I really know it's ((the extra season)) all about $$$, and that's OK....) I have witnessed a team come from the dead, found something late, and now has developed into an excellent Football TEAM!  That, to me, is worth the extra playoff teams... :'(
17.

And when they have to get on this site and read the negative that doesn't do anything for their self-confidence.  Leave the coaching to the coaches they have confidence in their players to step and they usually always do.
I get what you are saying but you have to remember this is a football "DISCUSSION" forum. People are going to discuss, thats what the site is for and its what makes people come here at all for the sport of discussion in itself. They are going to discuss the good and they are going to discuss the bad. 100% of what you read here is pure opinion and nothing else unless a person is quoting actual historical data. Although I agree that we really should not call out players and coaches directly, I do believe that its the very nature of these sites that the performances on the field are sometimes going to be implied or called into question by the comments. Just like watching the commentators on ESPN, everyone involved has to take what they read/hear for what its worth which is absolutely nothing of value whatsoever, and make sure the kids understand the same. If I were a coach or parent, I would avoid this and all other sites like it altogether unless you are able to see it for nothing more than entertainment value. I would FORBID the kids from reading any of this junk. Its DEFINITELY not to be taken seriously. I dont even take myself seriously, much less what any other self proclaimed (or implied) authority has to say on here. I was doing this before there was a single purpose built Texas football site in the web way back in 1996, we did our talking with MsNed, Jake94, GoStangs, Coog4Life and the famous Austin Kinghorn from Barbers Hill on a little backdoor forum on the old Beaumont Enterprise site. Then came the flurry of sites like this and its been a free for all every since. Again, just take it for what it is, thousands of armchair QBs, all of which think they are the only one who knows anything about football, blessing all the other ignorant forum members with their exclusive, infinite wisdom.  ;D
Micheal, While I did not agree with your "hideous" comment about the Nederland D, I do agree with you here.  And if the players are reading these boards, they won't read any worse criticism than they have already heard from their coaches a thousand times or more at this level.  This is a place for has-beens and wannabes to talk about football because they just can't get enough of it on Firday nights...
18. Is coach of the year based on the regular season, or, does it include the playoffs?
19. Oh, and congratulations to the Nederland COACHES! You've stood through a lot of adversity this year, and, proved what an excellent program you have achieved!
20.

In Dionte's 2 starts, he has thrown for 491 yards and 6 TD's with 0 fumbles.  He has provided the shot in the arm that the Dogs needed.
What position did Dionte play against FW? I just do not remember him??
Dionte played DE against FW and hurt his knee in the first half, or so.
21. Congratulations to all these young men who played their hearts out!  I'm feeling the pain from just watching!  Vidor will get in the playoffs and do well.  There were times on offense when I didn't know who had the ball, even after watching my video.... As for my DOGS: We knew what you could do, and you proved it tonight!  Enjoy, and get ready for next week.  Continue taking care of the ball, and, WOW the defensive effort! Let's go get Lumberton!
22. Come on, BIG NED BAND!  Let's make it 50 victories!
23. I noticed this Broussard 28 kid last night, too. From the first play to the end he is in the tackle, and if not he is hitting somebody somewhere! Appears to be the defensive leader... He plays with a lot of heart and passion... bet Neumann would take a team full just like him.
24. For you baseball fans... wonder if we'll see any "3rd class" signs!
