  1. it sure amazes me how one game can change the minds of many people.....Just a few days ago there were post saying that nederland wld blow out the panthers....LOL. Now the same people on here are questioning the coaching staff and the nederland team...It doesnt bother me that we still havent earned the respect of any nederland fans. Who cares if yall think we are sloppy, sorry or wont win another game...yall bet against us last week and look at the outcome So im asking all you dawg fans to keep the odds in our favor and bet against us every week.PS who is the homecoming king and queen.LOL
  2. dnt get me wrong the facilities are nothing great.....but the pride of the fans is outstanding. As a visitor i was impressed with the turnout of the lions....Tailgaiting included live bands bar bq the works and it wasnt even their homecoming.just a bunch of fans enjoying texas highschool football
  3. yall have built this one up like its the national championship.....May the best team win. I can say good luck to both teams only until the week they play ozen...But until then good luck. No predictions of the outcome but i will watch the tailgate party to see who will join the panthers in the win column friday
  4. i have had the privilege of going to dangerfield(LOL) one thing about that program is that the kids year in and year are big strong well condition and have a love for the game. i cld be wrong but i pick dangerfiled....if anyone goes to the game go to cason wich is another very small town that is two mins from the stadium and get some hot links......
  5. winning r loosing there will be a livingston fan(a lady) who always leads a cheer by shouting who house.....the place is so small you can hear her on the visitors side over the band.
  6. that place seems like it is from the 1960's the lights are located on the sidelines......
  7. ozen has lost to nederland for the past few years but the old winning tradition of the ozen panthers will start on friday night.regardless of either record this game has always been war.the question was asked if ozen wld have beat friendswood.......DNT KNOW HAVE TO WAIT AND SEE THEM IN THE PLAYOFFS.the panthers will hold one of the 4 spots.....
  8. ive been reading this a few mins now and every post has ozen ranked really low....I was just wanting to know why everyone is counting this team out ....from seeing them in their spring game they seem to be on course to have a pretty good year...of course they lost a few big named players but they seem to have a solid group of kids....and i hear nelson is doing great in keeping them disciplined and motivated
  9. 2pm will be here soon so we all need to get a good nights rest so we can accomplish what we came here to do .......Cheer the hawks on to their second state championship appearance in three years. Nos I wasn't trying to ruffle any feathers by my post Im just a huge Jarvis fan .....My son and I love to watch him play. I just wanted to get the heads up on his situation to make sure I cld have the opportunity to reserve season tickets to where ever he chooses to go. GOOD LUCK THIS WEEKEND
  10. in that case good job Gus.....Will someone please answer the question that was posted earlier. Does jarvis have any opportunities to play after he leaves hj
  11. coach im glad to know you and the team made it to Austin safely....was jarvis sick the night of the press conference or is the soph the leading scorer on the team. or the team capt?
  12. powers i agree with you on that....the players you just mentioned have been the backbone for the hawks the last four years or so. Does anyone know if jarvis has any offers to any school. I reviewed his stats a few days ago.....dude is awesome.(he wld look good in a cardinals uniform) I know trey will probably end up playing football somewhere and Jacobi will be returning.
  13. fellas come on now we all know that good athletes have to be able to be coached in order to make it on any level of any game. the spears franks comparison is based on some knowledge of both. spears was an all around team player my book may be old but i will take that type of player over a selfish all american anyday.....But once again thats my personal opinion
  14. spinks imo if k spears wld have played at ozen he wld have been recruited heavily....Look at the attention decarlos fanks gets and he is no where close to being the athlete spears was. in agreement with you twin county lil dribblers is a great program
  15. well said bluedove....And spinks I didnt say kids have left hj In search of scholarships i said parents were wanting to pull kids out because of the lack of offers. Spinks think about it when you were at Hj you played ball with some of the best to ever come through that school....dnt get me wrong Im not bashing your brother or any of the other coaches They are all stand up guys. Someone said that 3a schools usually dont send kids to big d1 schools and that what parents are starting to notice. I bleed red wight and blue and wld hate to see the future of the program disapear because parents feel their children have a better opportunity to play else where
  16. dont get me wrong I'm not blamming any of the hj coaches or the ones prior to them ...Joel nolte, durrette and others. but i know many parents who are disappointed with the recruting process from hj and because of this the parents are opting to bring their kids to bisd and other surrounding areas where they will get a quality education and a better shot at an athletic scholarship. in order to keep hometown athletes (Nome china cheek sourlake) Hardin Jefferson needs to send more kids to the next level. I know grades and conduct weigh more on this issue than overall athletic ability....But kids usually dint fail off the team there so their grades should be high enough for many schools
  17. take it how you want to. but seriously all i was saying is that HJ has been a dominate program in setx for many years and I wld just like to see more kids from there go to college and play ball. I just hate to see great players wasted. I can name many good/great players who have come from there that never got the chance to even play at a juco
  18. i sure hope to see the both of theese young men play on the next level. They have done so much for the entire program and it would be horrible to see them end up like Ryan donahoe. that is too much talent gone to waste
  19. HJ will always have a great b ball program....The Nome Gym is a breeding ground for great players both male and female. HJ just has a few setbacks they nurture the talent just enough to make it to state but what happens to the kids after they have played their last games at hj? Hardin Jefferson has always been and will remain one of the strongest programs in setx......They should be sending more kids to the next level.
  20. Nos. Congrats on the return trip to state....but two of theese young men have any serious offers or chances to play ball onthe next level.
