I'm not quite sure where you get your information from, or how you've come to this interpretation, but you're wrong. Kirbyville will definitely be good this year...playoff team no doubt - but not as strong as last year's squad. Nobody said your team would be weak, so make sure you use that term in another context! No one is doubting the potential of your team, but duplicating last year's performance isn't likely. Congratz again on a great season, but there's no dynasty in Wildcat territory! See you in the second round! Dynasty = Southlake Carroll, Katy, Odessa Permian, WOS, Sealy, Celina, Schulenburg(wow, anyone remember those days?), Newton is probably on the threshold of this - so let's say the eagles are just nasty, without the dy!!! Through the years I've heard my Eagles called lots of different things, but this is a first! I've never thought of it this a way, but I kinda like it! ;D glad i could be of assistance!

In that order? Wow! Could be a recipe for disaster... Here's my take: Hands first...otherwise you won't get a shot @ receiver Routes second...run crisp routes, then gradually up your speed while maintaining the desired route Speed third...see hands / routes, then be able to break away Physical last...if you can't catch the ball while running any route where speed is not a factor, who cares if you can't beat that db off the line, or block downfield!!

The Panthers, on the other hand, will be vastly improved and would be up for the bi-district meeting again for sure - but y'all need to worry about Newton right now. Honestly, you may want to move back up in class if you really don't want to hear about Anahuac...otherwise you're gonna go crazy for the next 3 seasons!! Anahuac is not doubt a team that is on the up, but saying that they might want to move back up in classification to stay away from them? I think they would be more than willing to stay where they are even though they proved their worth with the likes of Jasper, Silsbee, and WOS. I wouldn't wish playing in that district on anyone! Just to clarify...I never said stay away from, I said hear about....and as long as they're both 2A schools they will be mentioned together. Context dude....context! If Wildcats are gonna come on here and say we don't deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence then you're gonna hear it from the other side, period! If you're going to dish it out then you've got to be able to take it - that's only fair! 8)

Well, either way...5A is 5A, 4A is 4A so on and so forth - it's not 5A 1/2 or 4A 1/2!!!! UIL doesn't need to make $$ off of public schools / athletics!! If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck and looks like a duck, then it's a duck - whether it's big or little!

Might as well play it, so that it is indisputed in each classification. However, there's too many teams that make the playoffs each year and they keep adding more! IMO there should only be 2 teams from each district - Champ and runner-up....not 3,4 or 5 teams(future)!!!!!

Justin Albritton will be a soph. and made 1st team all-state DB as a freshman last season for the Panthers!!!!!

Sounds a lot like Texas Tech..... 0 Big XII titles / 0 national championships - just saying! You should know about underachieving Anafanatic! Every year your community has and will continue to have more talent hands down than the rest of the district, you should be playing for the district title every year! One good year after so many failures. Kudos to you!! I won't deny we have the best talent, but you must have brains mixed in with that....otherwise you're peeing in the wind! Every school has years when they're down, it just so happens that last year and this year won't be one of those years for us! Thanks for the insight...but of course y'all are very used to failure!!! 8)

I really don't think it matters much anymore - mainly because the UIL has made it to where almost all your district teams make the playoffs anyway...@ least in 4A & 5A! In reference to the lower classes, every post I've seen is correct....your good sophs will be moved up to Varsity and once you split up the players it could go either way. From past experience and observations, never assume the varsity will be or could be as good the sub-varsity's prior years' record / performance - 10-0 can go to 0-10 quick!!! :-\

yeah but it doesn't hurt to run a 4.4, just ask the teams who make state year-in year-out. That's Vidor achilles heel every year practically Todd Dodge's SLC teams didn't have 4.4 sprinters on there team. How did they when so many State Championships? They were well coached with a great system. Very true, and they just had a swagger about them that kept 'em winning!! I never take too much away from 7on7, because pads make all the difference in the world - but good luck to PNG with its new coach and system.

District may be down, but the Panthers aren't....team will be even better than last years squad and should win the title with ease, IMO!

Okay...the past few weeks, aside from Swine Flu, there has been a lot of deleting of threads, people running off, etc. In a perfect world we wouldn't have a softball forum, or any sports forum because we'd know the results before it happened! I guess I'm confused...how can a thread about a deleted thread get locked when we have a thread that's still in existence that's basically calling out the BC coach / program? I know the site needs moderators and administrators, but let's try to keep the so called hands out of the cookie jar every once in a while. I choose what thread I post in...which ones I read and not post...and which ones I do neither. As long as there's no cussing, brutal bashing, brutal hijacking (lets face it, all threads are hijacked to some extent) then I say let it be! SETX is a great tool for networking, communicating, learning - GIVING THE UMPS A HARD TIME....but overall it's supposed to be fun, and it hasn't been lately. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but this site is for the parents, coaches, players, etc. and not the ENFORCERS! A bunch of my buddies have elected to not be on here anymore and admit it, things just aint the same - but don't point the fingers at them, or even me now! "Well, some go this way, some go that way. But as for me, myself, personally, I prefer the shortcut". Let's try to not take things so personal...let freedom of speech flow and just let it be!

Good post CC! I'd rather these guys, or anyone for that matter be blunt with their posts, than sugar coat 'em....but some people just don't think that way, and they can enjoy juicebox and cookies 'til the cows come home! Maybe there's just some threads that moderators should shy away from.....do the mods have mods? Handle it through Karma, PM or just don't read it! We're all on here cause we care about what's going on in softball, not politics! I apologize if I'm being too blunt, but that's how I roll! See you folks in about a week - if there's games by then!

Just passing on the information I got a little while ago. Word is they will not be back until a certain Moderator is no longer a Moderator. I also know of others that deleted thier accounts today. They feel they would be on even "Playing Fields" if he was just a posters. Just the messenger................ : are they supported by the union? i've never heard of a poster's strike before. "we want freedom of speech, better benefits, our own moderator, and you have to get rid of this guy, or we aren't coming back!" give me a break. i've got no problem with any of the guys who deleted their accounts, but why would anyone affiliated with the site be concerned about 5 or 10 posters leaving? apart from the softball forum, nobody even knows these guys are gone. why would the site demote a moderator to get them back when there have already been a ton of issues surrounding them? If the 5-10 people in question were still here then we wouldn't have a thread with this topic. What you have here is the setx version of the swine flu, in the form of a boycott....it will eventually pass once everyone has been vaccinated. Softball may be delayed folks, but there's no doubt it's not as lively on here as of late - freedom of speech should trump everything! (less cuss words, of course)
