Ozen vs. central game thread

Recommended Posts

I was going to  post updates like I do every year, but I was busy saving seats for friends.  It was PACKED.  Ozen had the overall better team, but it quickly  became the Jones vs. Washington  as show as neither team had a consistent answer for both.  Washington is Central's everything and she'll need to score 30 points for the Jags to stand a Chance.  Ozen is loaded with size and Jones just fits right in.  It still amazed me that she's so quick and moves like that at her size!
I was there. I was afraid of elbowing the person next to me if I texted the scores. Central's guard is so strong in her game it makes her teammates appear weaker.

Maybe im wrong but on the highlight video the Ozen star didn't do much. I mean I saw her score maybe 3 shots and that's a maybe. The two tall girls 10 and 14 I think did most the shooting. She looks more like a ball handler and passer than shooter.
The "star" didn't need to score as much last night because #14 (?) was getting open and scoring. But I bet her assist were up last night  ;)

I'm just saying what I observed from the high light video.
Hey man, she's the truth.  That's why she'll play for the Longhorns next year.  She can shoot as well as get to the cup.  She blows by girls that are under  half her size.

Central's guard is the entire offensive package.

Yeah that's quite obvious. Stop her and that's game. The trick is actually stopping her lol.

    • We pray before every game and after every game at Newton. This (our players are better than your players)was started by longballs. He does this every yer then just disappears. r
    • I didn't like the hire from the beginning, but you are correct. 100% the supt. choice.
    • Let’s all pray that this upcoming season will be a great one and that all players will stay as healthy as possible. We all know (or should) that we’re talking about kids so no matter what team that you support, to ensure that we’re being as encouraging and uplifting as we can be as grown (oftentimes immature) adults.    Staying true to the subject topic, it should be a competitive game against Woodville & Fig Newton. I’d venture to say that the winner of this game will most definitely be crowned the district champs.
    • I get that. And most will say that givin the d1 athletes…..myself included, but 4trips in a row….come on now  I know that they probably don’t win that 2nd sc without them and probably not make it as far the last two years. (Those that are in the know…know) They re able to connect to players and manage those d1 egos and know who should play where and when giving certain situations in game. tremaine just turned around a bottom dweller team in the Corpus Christi area to a playoff contender in one year. yes having athletes make it a lil easier but when you repeat to state 4 years in a row coaching is a huge part of that.  Your last comment is ridiculous….there is more to coaching than just throwing athletes in defensive and offensive sets. United has more coming thru the pipeline…..let’s see how Green manages/coaches it.
    • If that’s not enough, you’re lost.
