West Sabine has definitely been impressive to this point.  This kids can only go out and play the teams that were put in front of them.  So anything about a weak schedule or anything of that sort is a non-point.  The real tests start in 1 week.  And for West Sabine October 19 and October 26th will determine just how good this team really is.  Hopefully all teams are relatively injury free and play some good solid football!

Your right, the kids can only go out and play the teams in front of them. But the schedule yall have for pre-district is very soft! To date Tenaha has been the biggest challenge. You can debate both sides of that as well. Boosted confidence, less injuries, or the other side, over confident, peaking out to early, lack of playing teams that put you in adverse situations. I think our district is probably one of the toughest in 1A. Regardless of what happens in this triad of SA,WS,and Alto, I think we will be very well represented come playoff time.

True, These kids can only play who is in front of them.
Think back to last spring, everybody was wondering what The AD was thinking about opening up with the reigning state champs Beaumont Kelly. Before the game this was still being talked about." Look at the size of those kids warming up, what was he thinking".
Game starts out.... oh crap, then all of a sudden it was WTH happened to them... You never know.
Hemphill, big time rivalry. seen games go from 2-0,7-3,14-7, and a few blowouts over the years. But did give us practice at containing and staying within a defensive game plan. Hornets will always be on our schedule.
WH... past district foe that has been some hardnose football games with a few great athletes..
Tenaha.... Here we go.......
Then Ol "Bye" - When to throw that one in ??
Burkeville, You never know, We've played them year in and year out, many times just to get out of district and to the playoffs. Hopefully Mustand tradition will return.
The day after realignmemt makes all of the scrambling to make schedules tough. You are a hero or a goat.
This district will be a battle and be stacked come playoff time...and we will support each other...Cause we believein Deep East Texas 1A football.

According to Campbell's it is the toughest in the state. I agree the district will be well represented in the playoffs because all 3 will be a tough out for whoever plays them.

    • The point that nobody wants to acknowledge is that Dems are crossing over to vote Trump in the primaries. They know he’s an easy out.
    • With this post coming from a Kountze alum. I would say its Hancock.
    • First game of the day in mere minutes!
    • Unfortunately for Mr. Berry, it seems that every candidate he latches onto and endorses ends up losing their race. There was a long period of time where he wouldn't endorse at all, and still doesn't in many races, but he has latched onto a few candidates here recently. As much as I enjoy his show, it's clear often that he is operating off of pure opinion and rumor with no real basis for the things he says. As far as Phelan goes, I was not a supporter, but lots of folks were. Lots of influential BMT local politicians were pushing Phelan and that was probably enough to get him over the finish line. Roy West in particular had a huge hand in him winning Jefferson County by the margin he won. To me, it's as simple as that and not as underhanded as Berry would have you believe.
