When is Jon Boy gonna see more playing time? BTW, can anyone tell me what happened to Brad Hartmann, last year's starting nose guard? Did he transfer?
Jon Boy is seeing limited time until district play due to a back injury. Hartman is not playing this year due to a neck injury I am told. As far as i know, he will suit back up next season.

Congrats to Vidor on the win. Really good team for sure. Good luck to y'all during the rest of the season and playoffs.

To BC,
Keep your heads up, that was an awful tough team you just squared off with. A tough way to follow a really good Newton team, brutal 2 weeks for sure. Be proud you didn't quit, put this one behind you, and go to work on next week.

I was really impressed with #34 and a very talented QB.
BC has a lot to look forward to. Stump will have them back to top in no time. Rake1, who was that #34 for BC? He was a beast at running back.

I was impressed with our offense,
Disappointed in our defense.
However it got better in 2nd half IMO.

Quirante,,, WHOA,,, that boy blew it up tonight!

#8 Rodriguez(?) 2 pics looked good (believe Thomas woulda had that pic easy if Ocho wouldnt have been there)

On BC side, QB looked good to me. #34 is a monster. I think that BC team is goin to do fine come district looked like a good team to me.
#34 needs to control his temper, not goin to help his team sittin on the bench.

That being said, ATTENTION BUDDY GARRITY

I would like a mailbox in VISD for that Junior #34 for next season.

FYI, that field goal was a 35 yarder and he made it with ease. then followed up on the kick off by putting it in the endzone. definately something we lacked last season.

Clayton did a great job last year, He was not asked to kick deep but a handful of times last year.

You see tonight those deep kicks didnt necessarily help when the run it back to the 40.

Bridge City looked to have some very good parts.  They broke tackle after tackle all night.  They took some big hits and never quit.  I think Bridge City is much better than their 0-2 record would indicate.

For Vidor, too many mistakes and too many penalties.  But it is hard to complain about 45-7.

Go Pirates!

chill. and they do need work. i am by no means complaining about our overall defensive performance. but we need a little work on pass coverage. bc dropped several passes in this game. we had some good points, but we have got to tighten it up when it comes to district play.

keep in mind. know matter how well the performance, there is always something to improve on. never be satisfied with today when you still have tomorrow to do better.

that's one of the areas we need to work on.  saying we need to improve in an area is not being negative.

what do you think the coaches are gonna say come practice monday? or tomorrow during film?

ok dustoff I agree with the above. Our boys are great overall, but if we want to be district champs and get 3+ rounds deep, we must ALWAYS look for improvement. The bar is high this year, but this group CAN do it.

you are absolutely correct. Nederland is right around the corner and we are pretty much gonna have to play mistake free football. I have no doubt we can do it.

Thanks dustoff. I'm not making an indictment of the defensive secondary by no means however my expectations are high given they are a veteran bunch and based on last year's performance. I believe they got lulled into thinking BC would be an easy victory with little firepower. They caught us napping a few times and we are gonna need to really up our intensity level in preparation for the puppies. Clear Brook is gonna be a good test this week. I'm sure Jeff and his coaches will be on top of it. BTW dustoff, great job tonight!!!

    • We'll see. I don't trust us.
    • Starting pitching has been shaky the last few weeks due to some injuries outside of Hagen Smith.  He goes tomorrow, so y’all should be fine
    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!
