[size=12pt]For the first time since Ronald Reagan was president, the Sabine Pass Sharks qualified for the 1A playoffs in 2011.  The Sharks and first year coach Dustin Driskell will attempt to continue that streak in new district 11-1A-II which includes a couple of new teams which will raise the bar just a little bit higher.

The Sharks will have a few weapons to build around in 2011.  Senior receiver John Warren (1st team all district pick in 2011) and senior tight end Jacob Lewis (honorable mention all district in 2011) provide some experience at the skill positions.  Junior Lineman Alexander DeFrancis will anchor the Shark offensive line.

Senior Tanner Griff (1st team all district pick) will be counted on as the leader of the Shark defense from his linebacker spot.  He will be joined on the corp by junor Davon Chargois and junior Jaryd Arledge (both honorable mention all district in 2011).  They will back a front line that will be anchored by senior Frederick Lewis (2nd team all district pick in 2011).  Senior Emmanuel Flores (1st team all district pick in 2011) will lead the Shark secondary.

It is true. I met the kids at legacy 7 on 7. He is a nice little athlete. Had great arm strength, but he is young. He still makes bad decisions and is inaccurate. But he will help the sharks out this year.

Coach Gragg is still the AD, but he also accepted an assistant principal position at Sabine Pass.
