when the ball shot the 3 seconds count restarts. also as long as the offense player is trying to move out of the paint. most of the time the 3's will not be called.

No. It restarts if the ball hits the rim. If the shot is an air ball, the 3 secs continue.
Also, if the offensive player advances the ball past the defender (even if the defender still stays within range) the 5 sec count restarts as well. In the 7 games I have watched in this tourney so far, I have observed at least (6) 5 sec calls and ZERO 3 sec violations. Clearly this chapter of officials
has emphasized the 5 sec rule more so than the 3 sec call. I'm not upset about it, I was just making an obvious observation. It's just the way they run their chapter. Refs in the Bmt/Ned area rarely make that call, but are more likely to call the 3 sec violation. But if they are going to make that call, they need to understand the rule completely, IMO.

The rim has no effect on the 3 sec rule.The ball just has to be shot.

Wow, you are usually crying about the refs by halftime.  Coach English is a very good coach, he'll get their attitude adjusted if needed at half.  Sounds like game is a good one.  I wish I could of made it.  Good luck to both teams.

Second game - no complaints during beat down of Anahuac
Third game - you had to drop a "Looks like another 5 on 8" though you made it better with smiley face
oh and Refs are clueless!!!  comment when you didn't understand the technicals
Fourth game - Complained about 3 seconds not being called though you showed you didn't know the rules on 3 seconds with your explanation.

I don't think i was crying, but U have an opinion like everyone else. When the refs stop play for 5 minutes bc they don't understand the rules, i'm gonna say they are clueless every time. I also made it very clear twice that refs rarely decide the outcome of a game, but maybe u overlooked those posts???
