3 time defending 3A state champ Carthage goes down in double over time 35-34 to Argyle.  The Bulldogs lose on a missed extra point in overtime that hit the upright.  So there will be a new champion in division 2 this year in 3A.

I thought they were still the team to beat this year in Div II (and would be a tough out) just because of how well they perform come playoff time...I'm not surprised at all that when they finally lose that it's by only 1pt in OT due to a missed PAT.....

That group of players and coaches over at Carthage know what they're doing....They won 3 consecutive state titles and in the process ran off 20 straight playoff wins...Now that's impressive...What a great run...I know it'll seem strange in Carthage not playing football in Dec for the first time in 4 years...
