I saw where this was a heated subject on the LCM thread and i thought it would be a good idea to hear arguments for both sides so here you go. Argue away.

How do you think that not taking a knee is classy? These are kids playing. Even if it's not yours. Part of the problem with people today is that they are very detatched from each other. They have no feelings for anyone but their self. How would you feel if it was your son? Come on people....

It does not matter how long a player is down on the field you should respect the other team as well as the player down and put a knee down. Its common courtesy. That shows you how much class some high school football teams in southeast Texas have or don't have. Not kneeing down for a player is like not taking your hat off for the national anthem.

Taking a Knee is something that is done in Little league, and Pop Warner to get the kids to sit still, This BS is getting blown way out proportion, the way you people make it sound is that the PNG staff and players could care less about anyone that gets hurt during the game, and I know for a fact that the kid that put the hit on the young man that was hurt knows him and has a lot of respect for him, You put the National Anthem as the same thing as taking a knee? You are a JOKE !

Not taking a knee says "I don't care that someone is hurt on the field."  You may care, but you sure don't show it.  You are judged on your actions, not your words.

I'm a joke really?? You have no respect for anyone at all. I'm sure your always that guy I see at games who doesn't take his hat off during the national anthem, or who is talking during the moment of silence or prayer. Yeah I bet your mom is so proud that she raised such a great gentleman. You are a DISGRACE!

First of all, I am no daddy.  Secondly, they only one stirring a pot is you.  People ARE judged by their actions, not their words.  They can care all they want, but until it is shown, it means absolutely nothing.

U nailed it. We are disconnected as a society b/c of social networking, email, txt msg, etc. If everyone else does it, then it becomes a 'unwritten rule'. It's not like anyone is asking the opposing team to bring flowers to the injured player. Just drop a knee and respect the game and others.

Someone explain to me where the taking a knee for an injured player came from? And why is that the only exceptable way for an opponet to show respect for that injured player?
[/quote]

I dont know who started it but the point of it is obvious. To continue to have the players, band, coaches and even cheerleaders go on as if nothing has happened shows a complete disregaurd for the injured player. They are supossed to be competitors not enemies. I know the golden rule does not mean a lot to some people today but it comes down to that. If a player gets hurt representing his home school he has earned some respect.

Since this a thread to bash png so more........if you ever notice that if an and gets hurt we still don't take a knee we move out of the way get water and instruction from our coach. Let the trainer do there job get the hurt off the field so they can be treated and get back. To playing football it is sick that this is a so called football board and we have to talk about manners of another team if you want to talk mannerw have a tea party let go back to playing football

    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!

    • Come on dude, don’t take anything away from the kids on the field. If you want to talk uncharacteristic, we made what 3 or 4 errors in game one. Y’all had 2 EARNED runs.  Defense is normally our strong suit. Your ace didn’t strike out a single one of our kids. Like I said also, you did not out hit us in game 1. Hell you barley out hit us in game 2. We had all the uncharacteristic walks. Josh pitched a hell of a game is what made that game what it was.
