Saw on TRB where Yates may be recruiting from Defenders Select 2016. That's what I call planning for the future.
Can't now. Dude's brother done shot off too much at the mouth about his brother who is in the 8th grade and everybody knows the kid goes to school in Cy Fair. Dumb mouth big brother.

I'm guessing your talking about D.F.  Man if he can't go to Yates he may not have any of those D1 scouts seeing him play  ;D ;D
Yep, thats who "we" are referring to. The kid can play but his business is out there now. Too many UIL regulators out there. He'll get his D1 looks anyway. He'll be in that elite class and coaches are probably hearing about him now. Those kids are coming into the light because the they gotta push fresh kids because the Harrison twins will be off to the AAU circuit soon. Their shoe company sponsor need new blood flowing in their system.

IMO Don does a good job keeping his 2016 team in the spotlight. That's really the only Defender team I know anything about. Are the Harrison twins seniors this year?
I;ve always heard Don is a very good coach. I do know he keeps a good team every year. The 2015 team is their up & coming team for the future. I think the Harrison twins grad in 2013, with maybe one more summer of ball. Shoe teams like Defenders gotta groom young talent for the next level. Which is why some 9th graders will be playing in 16 and 17u divisions from now on.
Yep! H. Hoops sent their 8th graders to Nike headquarters in Portland to play @ Nike tourney and McDonald reps.

I know we're a little off the original subject, but one more question  ;D
Are you saying these younger boys will be playing in the 16/17U division throughout the summer, or just for select tourneys??
In a way we're still on subject because it all falls into place why the transfers are positioning for the future. The majority will be playing varsity anyway. The plan is for selected 9th graders to play 16u all year at a national level on the shoe circuit.

unless your defenders select 2014 who was playing 17u for half the summer
talking about upcoming summer season. Some 9th graders will mix in with 16u players. Kinda like what the Harrison's twins did this year. They played with older players on their team.

Seems klike the kids wanna win. yates has been apealing to players who has the chance to join them. I think the record setting year helped yate's sell pitch.
what ever the reason, kids keep coming.
yep. So so true. Some have already gotten ESPN notice for future rankings.

I saw some local kids who received recognition on ESPN's rankings as well (class of 2013). Just shows you don't have to go to a school like Yates just to get National attention.  ;)

My congratulations to Yates for operating their program "within prescribed guidelines" and not ever violating the intent/spirit of the rules.
That's your current 4A speech. Can't wait for the 3A speech when y'all.meet them in 3A

If we ever meet them, I will personally guarantee that  the "powers that be" will have more knowledge of certain "activities" than they ever had previously.

Yates 115.  Westbury. 65. In a scrimmage today
Sounds like they're they're they're back!
...and just why does that excite you so much??
I think the Dove has always been impressed by great recruiters.  What is odd is that he has no problem with type of overt "stacking of the deck" but is always saying how so many in our economy don't get a fair chance.

It's kinda like a company hiring a lot of smart/creative business minded employees to maximize profit... So Dove finds that to be wrong but thinks (illegaly) recruiting HS kids to make a team better is ok??? I'm very confused???
