USFA World Series Updates

Out of Control 99 - 5 vs. Tennessee Lady Jaxx - 1  in Pool Game #1
GT Shockers 99 - 5 vs. Kentucky Lightning - 1 in Pool Game #1

Out of Control 99 - 8 vs. Cary Crush from North Carolina - 0  in Pool Game #2

Out of Control 99 - 18 vs. Georgia Force - 1  in Pool Game #3

OOC pitchers have combined over the first two games to allow only 3 hits and I think only 2 walks. This is against some of the top seeded teams so far. The girls are making things happen. They are playing very well as a team.

All five pitchers for OOC have now combined to still only allow 3 hits. We had a couple more walks and a fielders choice to allow a run in the third game. The teams bats woke up in a big way in the last inning of tonights third pool game. I hope we can carry this momentum into the bracket portion of the tournament starting tomorrow. We are really starting to see things click and see the advantages of playing against some really strong Houston teams.

I do not have any more updates for the GT Shockers.

Both teams start bracket play @ 12:30 tomorrow afternoon.

Hopefully these girls can fight it out Saturday in the Ship for the 10u B here in PCB.

Good Luck to both teams!!!!

OOC 99 won there first two bracket games today.

Game 1:
OOC 99 - 8 vs. Gulf Coast Fusion - 2.
We started of the first inning a little slow in the field allowing them 2 runs. Then we came up and kept the bats going scoring three runs in the 1st. Then we took over the game behind some stellar pitching and defense. We kept the bats working all game.

Game 2:
OOC 99 - 5 vs. West U Wave (Texas "B" Division state champs) 0.
We started the game with two walks and then proceeded to strike out the next 2 and then the catcher for us made a great snag at the backstop to end the inning and set the tone for the rest of the game. We came to bat and batted around scoring four on some stellar base running and forcing the other team to make some mistakes. Then behind another great pitching performance shut down the State Champs. Bats have remained hot. All the girls are making contact and seeing the ball well.

We play the Midway Miss Stixx from GA tomorrow at 6. They are the GA "B" division runner ups.

It has been amazing watching these 10 girls come together as a team over the last month. Things are clicking and the small things are working and coming together.

Unfortunately I heard the GT Shockers dropped there first bracket game 6-1 to a team that should be competing in the "A" division.

Shouldn't all second year 10U's be competing in the "A" division?

How is PCB?
Is it crowded? Hoping it will be pretty quiet next week when we get there with all of the non-softballers staying away due to the media beach scare! ;D

We will be there Saturday. If we get there early enough we will come out and support you gals.

In a perfect world.......yes.

The beaches are crowded but not overly crowded.  Check in when we got here Saturday was CRAZY!  Traffic has been bad.  But the beaches have been fine.  Some seaweed but that hasn't stopped anyone.

Good luck to you all and all the local teams!  If you make it early enough on Saturday, we would love the support.

Thankfully the place we are staying did all the paperwork through fax and will call and give me codes to the rooms after they are ready for ck in.  Straight to the rooms, no ck in!!!!!

Should be a little less crowded too.  This week there are 293 teams for the B.  Next week for the A there are only 175 total teams.

For the 10U's we have the A and B here this week, but there's only about 15 teams playing A, versus 70 in the B.  This place is very hectic with about 3000 ball players in town with the some of the older age groups here as well.  But it's a blast as well.  Hopefully the seaweed will ease up for you when you are here.   We had one day of clear blue beach, then the green came in.

You are lucky you haven't experienced the rain yet.  Then the fun begins with the "B" team grounds crew.  USFA nationals is good for a once in a lifetime trip

OOC-99 went through 5 pitchers throughout our journey this week and went 6-2 and were finally put out tonight.  Great run by the girls.  Unsure of placement but we made it to the top 16 and went out before the elite 8.  Coaches and parents were proud of their play and all they've accomplished this past year.
