  1. I have the following items for sale. Text me at 409-284-2879 if you want a photo. BRAND NEW WITH TAGS - Mizuno GMVP Utility 1250F1 Softball Glove. Still in the plastic and never used. This is my daughters favorite glove model, so I bought two for her to get through high school with, and her first one still is in great shape. She's now a senior, so looking to sell this one at a reduced price for someone. Very quick break-in on these gloves. New this glove was $100, but I see on the internet they are selling for $75 now. I'll sell this BRAND NEW glove for $60. Softball wagon with CUSTOM WELDED BAT BAG RACK. Will hold an entire teams bat bags. I love this wagon, but it's time to continue on it's journey with someone else that can continue it's use. It's been painted a few time to match team colors. All that's needed is for you to spray paint it the colors you want. We've mounted fans on this thing before, equipped it with port. generator, carried coolers, stereo systems, etc. Comes equipped with clip board clips. You want this if you are a select coach or parent looking to easily move things around the tournament. The wagon alone new was $90. Then we had a welder make the rack. I'm selling this wagon for $50. Again, you'll want it if you see it. 15 Total Control balls (TCB 82). 10 of these balls are new, 5 are used, but in great condition. These are the weighted balls you see girls use to warm up with at the tournaments. Essential! But they are expensive. New these balls run $140. I'm selling these for $70, and will throw in a ball bucket with padded seat in great condition for free ($15 value). 2 dozen Jugs dimpled softball machine balls. Most are new and only slightly used, and a handful are a little older. All are in great to good condition. New balls would cost $60. I'm selling these for $30, and will throw in a ball bucket with padded seat in great condition for free ($15 value). Just call or text me if interested in any of these great deals. Again it's 409-284-2879.
  2. Update. The Jugs Soft Toss Machine has been claimed. It's gone.
  3. Update. I haven't used the Jugs soft toss machine in awhile. So put it on a charge. The battery is bad. I looked up a replacement battery, and it's $38. I'll give this machine away for FREE. But only to someone that has a team and will commit to buy the battery and put it to work. I really want this stuff to go to people that will put it to good use for the girls. The machine works when it's plugged in, so I know it's good and the only issue is the battery. Call me if interested.

  5. Agree. Those Kowalik Twins with JPII are amazing. Pitcher/Catcher Combo. One has already committed to University of Kentucky, and the other is a top D1 recruit. Pitcher is a blazer with everything in the tool box on her pitches. But the whole team was stacked at every position. Amazing group. And hats off to Weimar, Texas for supporting their softball program. Weimar was our "neutral location" to play (meet in the middle), and that stadium was like a minor league baseball stadium. HUGE stands (HUGE, really), and amazing field. Weimer is an A and sometimes AA school that has multiple State Championships, and their stadium (yes stadium) shows how much the community is proud of that. It was the Field of Dreams. Awesome place to play. Proud of the Legacy girls for a very strong season. They are a bonded group and will do well in life. It was fun to watch them. And the new Coaches really pulled it all together this year for the girls to reach for the stars and get them to the Final 8 in the State, so great job to them also. Looking forward to next year!
  6. A little "media luv" for the girls. Proud of them (if you can't tell) :). [Hidden Content] [Hidden Content]
  7. Legacy with the win versus a gritty and hard playing Bryan St. Joseph's team! Final 6-3. On to the 2nd round. Congrats to the girls and Coach Gautreaux, and great game to the St. Joseph's team also.
  8. Legacy finished up final District play tonight with another solid performance. Undefeated District Champs in TAPPS 5-3A. Great job by the girls and Coach Allen Gautreaux. Looking forward to a strong run at State!
  9. Beaumont Legacy 11, The Woodlands Christian 0. Lady Warriors continue undefeated!
  10. Billy's contact number is 409-782-6404. He's really good working with the girls...
  11. ALL IN, as an update, Houston Power is expanding slowly in the Beaumont Area, but on purpose.  We now have two teams in Beaumont (Golden Triangle Area).  The entire Houston Power Organization (all in) only has 9 teams in total - 12U to 18U Gold.  So it is a small, but well controlled organization, and Nationally recognized.  In Beaumont, we have a 16U Team and now a 14U team (newly added).  Darren Swisher manages the 16U Team, and Jeff Boudreaux manages the 14U Team.   Both teams are coached by prior Division 1 players/current coaches.   Courtney Rhodus is the Head Coach (16U and 14U)  - Team Manager of Lamar University Softball. Candyce Carter is an Assistant Coach (16U and 14U) - Two time Team Captain of Lamar University Softball, Power Alumni, and future University of Arkansas Coach. Sonny Overstreet is an Assistant Coach on 16U - Stephen F. Austin University Baseball Alum.   I agree with what has been stated above.  Find what fits.   You may watch our practice and think what we do is not a fit for your daughter.  They will get pushed very hard (mentally and physically).  Conversely it may be exactly what you want as they will be well prep'd to handle the same at college ball.   I have four daughters myself and all are different, and not all are a fit for what HP does. So I'm a believer of testing all the opportunities available, then make a decision that fits your daughter the best.   As far as recruiting goes, folks can check out www.houstonsoftball.com and see what we have accomplished.   At the end of the day, and what I believe the most, she has to enjoy what she's doing to stay in the game and maximize her potential.  Keep checking teams out and you'll find the right fit.
  12. Thanks Allen.   We are good with where we are at.   It's the right decision for us.   The coaching and organization is exactly what we were looking for.   So we are excited for the games and challenges ahead.   Go SETX Teams!  I'm glad we have these opportunities for the kids to go to the next level.   Darren...
  13. Tommy, I just saw your post.   I want to thank you and others that called recently for the help and interest.   She was offered a spot tonight on Bayou Bats and so she's got a place.  Big thanks to the BB's and Coach Heath for picking her up for this past weekend's tournament and giving her a look.  Setxsports - keep up the good work - This is a great forum to help our area kids.   Good luck this summer to everyone!   Darren...
  14. I have a first year (born Y2000) 14U player looking to play this summer in the GT/Orange area.  Started playing select ball when she was 8.  Typically a mid-infielder but will gladly play any position on the field (except pitcher and catcher).  She will give you 100% effort, 100% good attitude, and a great teammate, all the time.  Guaranteed.   Please call if you are looking.   Darren Swisher...   409-284-2879
  15. I agree with everything Sonny said.  Our area should be very proud of the ball players that are being generated by all the area organizations and coaches.  We are fortunate to have a lot of good coaches in the area helping these kids at all age levels, and a lot of kids working hard to achieve their goals. For the 16U Power Girls, the day we spent today in Houston was awesome at "Power Day."  All teams in the organization got a very clear message on what we need to do.  As you heard today, every Power team is part of a very supportive organization that is here to make you the best you can be (both as a person and a player), and is committed to making your dreams come true.  We are looking forward to the road ahead... Power Up!!! Darren.....
  16. As a reminder, we will be having tryouts on Saturday, August 3rd at the Beaumont College Street Complex.  We will be on Fields D & E. 9:30 - 10:00 a.m. - Pitchers and Catchers Registration 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. - Pitchers and Catchers Workout 10:30 - 11:00 a.m. - Infielder/Outfielder Registration 11:00 - 12:00 p.m. - Infield/Outfield Workout 12:00 p.m. - Hitting and Speed Workout The coaches for this team are Sonny Overstreet (Stephen F. Austin University Baseball Alum); and, Sofie Mount (Former ULL/LSU pitcher - two College World Series). We are building a solid exposure fall for this team, and they will be expected to play up in 18U as well.  For more information on our organization, please visit houstonsoftball.com. If you have any questions, please call Sonny Overstreet at (409) 926-4011.
  17. Congrats ladies and coaches!  We are proud if you. Darren.
  18. I remember moving here 5 years ago from Houston.  My daughter was playing 8U select there at the time.  There were ZERO select teams here in Beaumont at that age group.  ZERO at 10U also anywhere (hard to believe now, isn't it?).  I contacted multiple organizations at  the time looking for a 10U team.  And got only one response.  Billy Mitchell.    "Come on, he said, Let's do it."  He took time in addition to his 18U team to help us.  That same first year 9 year old team took 4th place in the USFA Texas State Tournament when they were in their second year playing 10U in select ball, and finished in the final 12 of 80+ teams in the USFA World Series in Florida.  Mowing through Houston Teams.  Mowing through the top finishers of other States top finishers.  My kid has been with his organization ever since!  Thanks Billy for taking a chance on us and filling exactly what we were looking for! Stay in it, to win it!
  19. Congrats to all the Seniors.  Great job girls!  You deserve it after all that hard work. And I agree 100% with Ronnie.  Billy Mitchell, you do amazing things with these kids!!!!    They are completely motivated by you to "dig deep" to reach their goals.  Stay on the field, Buddy, and know that what you do is making a big difference!!!  You've been a HUGE positive influence on my kid and me.  You are the hardest working Coach I've ever seen.  I can't tell you enough how much that's appreciated, and how much we want you to "not retire" (if the rumor is true). Darren Swisher
  20. OOC played the 14U girls up in the 16U division this past weekend at the USFA Texas State Tournament and the girls played their hearts out and finished 4th place overall.  Congrats to the girls for the way they fought.  You made us all proud!
  21. OOC 14U played up in 16U this weekend and placed 2nd at the Stars Over Texas Sabine River Rumble.  After staying in the winners bracket until the Championship, they lost a tight battle with LA Lighting.  Congrats to LA Lighting also for taking 1st, your girls played great and the games against you were definitely exciting.  Both our team's outfielders definitely got a workout! Darren Swisher (409) 284-2879
  22. OOC 14U fought hard this past weekend to finish top 3 in the Baytown Cougars State Qualifier in a field of 19 teams.  They played 9 games in total against some very tough competition.  OOC scored 48 runs versus 16 against.  Their only losses were both against the Tournament Champs, Houston Power, in two tight battles.  Great and fun games to watch!!!  I can't wait to see ya'll play them again. We are proud of you!  You represented the area well! Darren Swisher 409-284-2879

  24. Our next open practice will be tonight, Tuesday, at 6:00 p.m. at Marauder Park. Come give us a look. Darren.... 409-284-2879
