Kirbyville will be dangerous in 2009!

Recommended Posts

People on this site seem to doubt my team in 2009 because of the talent lost to graduation. Kirbyville has a bunch of talent and will RELOAD this year! There are several players that missed the season last year that will be playing this year. I know Fred Rhodes and Devin Jackson will be back on the field. These two young men will give defenses a fit at the runningback position. I notice Anahuac think Kirbyville is weak this year, they better buckle 'em up tight because I know we will!!

I grew up hearing about Newton (my mom graduated from there a long time ago) and Kirbyville was never mentioned.  Recently they have obviously been doing well, I hope they continue to reload after turning that program around.  No doubt that there are atheletes in that area (Newton, Jasper, Kirbyville), and I wish them luck.

I guess dynasty means different things to different people. Comparing K'ville to WO Stark is laughable. Compare state titles won, district championships won, district games won, number of players signed to D1 scholarships, number of players played in NFL, etc. Kirbyville's program compared to Newton's is not even close. Last year was the only year Kirbyville had ever advanced to a state championship game and lost. This years team may be good, but talk dynasty after coming out as State Champions more than once. :)

I was not comparing them to west orange i was saying they could be a west orange type of team in 2A just reload every year.

I respect your opinion, but disagree that Kirbyville can become that dominate just because they are now 2A. The ranks of 2A are filled with programs that can match and surpass anything Kirbyville has done to date, including being more successful in 3A. Kirbyville had a good run last year, but I prefer to hold my "they will always dominate" attitude until more is proven.

I can't wait until we meet up with your Eagles my friend. Kirbyville will be better than last year especially on defense.

You started this string about Kirbyville. I have not said anything about my Eagles and stand by what I have said about the Wildcats.

Whose going to be your quaterback?

Last I heard it's between Cucancic, Jones, or Vanya.

at practice they are using cucancic more than anyone

I'm not quite sure where you get your information from, or how you've come to this interpretation, but you're wrong.  Kirbyville will definitely be good this year...playoff team no doubt - but not as strong as last year's squad.  Nobody said your team would be weak, so make sure you use that term in another context!  No one is doubting the potential of your team, but duplicating last year's performance isn't likely.

Congratz again on a great season, but there's no dynasty in Wildcat territory!  See you in the second round!

Dynasty = Southlake Carroll, Katy, Odessa Permian, WOS, Sealy, Celina, Schulenburg(wow, anyone remember those days?),

Newton is probably on the threshold of this - so let's say the eagles are just nasty, without the dy!!!

Through the years I've heard my Eagles called lots of different things, but this is a first! I've never thought of it this a way, but I kinda like it! ;D

vanya is also a very good quarterback but jones is out of the question he will be backup tight end

I figured that he would have the upper hand on the job this summer.

    • We'll see. I don't trust us.
    • Starting pitching has been shaky the last few weeks due to some injuries outside of Hagen Smith.  He goes tomorrow, so y’all should be fine
    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!
