no, i think you are not giving 18-3a enough credit.   ;D

4.  Lufkin Hudson

5.  Jasper

6.  Hamshire-Fannett

7.  Diboll

8.  Hardin-Jefferson

Since I think the strength is way disproportionately strong in certain areas of the state; I would rate 3A as follows at this point in time:

#1  Taylor

#2  Bridge City

#3  Sinton

#4  Orangefield

#5  Kennedale

#6  Rockdale

#7  Lufkin-Hudson

#8  Sweeny

#9  Robinson

#10 Hamshire-Fannett

#11 Huffman

#12 Spring Hill

#13 Giddings

#14 Cuero

#15 Wharton

#16 Mineola

#17 Carthage

#18 Liberty

#19 Hardin-Jefferson

tie~~~ #20 Wimberley, Jasper, Hutto, La Grange, Bellville, Celina, Robstown

Sir: Do you really think White Oak and/or Hallettesville could beat any of the teams rated on the top ten of this Poll?

Would someone like to start a poll voting between this top 20-- above-- and Gwood's official poll?

That would be an interesting aside for the discussion board at this time of the season! ::)

======

As for 2A strength--I think either Buna or Kirbyville will win state.  Just because they have taken it on the chin against some real strong 3As they should not be weakened when the 2A brackets start.

Heck, why don't we just do away with state polls altogether.  I mean since Southeast Texas is THE place for 3A baseball and all.  Why don't we just have all the other teams in the state hang it up right now?  You do realize how big our state is right?  6 or 7 teams from SE Texas in the top twenty?  Keep dreaming buddy.

By your logic, those 2A teams don't deserve to be there because they can't beat those 3a teams that are ranked.  YET, Orangefield got beat by two UNRANKED 4A teams....but according to you they are the fourth best in the state?  Please.

Yep, That's my picks--let's see yours for 3A big boy?

I do favor Southeast TX and also a coastal section of Region IV & the southern part of Region III.

Well, for starters, I am neither big nor a boy.  And secondly, I much prefer 4A baseball.  I just find it humorous to see the repeated whining about 3A baseball rankings on this board.  Southeast Texas has some pretty competitive 4A programs with proven playoff success although none are ranked.  You don't see anyone from those schools on here crying about it.

I was born and raised in Southeast Texas, and before I got the opportunity to move away, I, too, saw it as it's own little bubble.  But believe me, there is a whole other world (or should I say state?) out there full of some pretty salty baseball clubs.  And comparatively speaking, they are just as good or better than the ones down in SE Texas.

I'm not going to give picks because that's for the people who run the polls to decide.  I simply pointed out that your logic is flawed.  Last I'll say about it....it's obvious you are a serious homer.

being ranked and about 3 bucks will get you a cup of coffee

I agree!  Lots of emphasis put on these rankings .............. teams need to take one game at a time, take care of the business at hand!  Just how are these rankings calculated anyway?  Is it the win/loss record, does who you beat or lost to play into the formula, etc?
