On this board, they'll tell you a whole bunch of SETX guys for numerous reasons and thus far, that's what they've gotten. Then again, the media in SETX is all over their HS football teams as are the fans on this board. Very interested to see the hometowns of the players that come in within a few months. Also interested to see where names from SHSU, McNeese, SFA and NWST come from as far as lack of SETX players...

lamar is going to put a hurtin' on mcneese and sfa wont get much from here either.im curious to see what we get from the houston area.we cant field a team with just local kids.houston will be vital to our succes.ive heard rumors of some local kids at southland schools wanting to transfer back to lamar and i think we'll do good with the juco's.big ray has strong ties in east texas as well.cant wait till signing day!!!

Lamar should be able to get enough talented local players each year to have a nice foundation for a football team.  Then if they can sign their share of top recruits from other areas, such as Houston, then they should be able to field a competitive team every year.

Lamar really needs to recruit East Texas as well (Tyler Longview Area).
