So, What do You See In Your Favorite teams' Future

Recommended Posts

L-town has alot of good athletes coming through the system now. The 9th grade is seen as the weakest class coming up, but right behind these guys the 8th grade team apparently has 4 players in particular who could be starting running backs on any area team. The 7th grade has alot of strong kids too. The program in L-Town has taken hold and should keep us in the W column for several years.

Nederland has a wave of talent coming that may be it's best since the late 90's early 00's.  The CO middle school hasn't lost a game in like 3 years and this year's 8th grade group may be the best of the bunch.  I heard they haven't given up positive yardage yet on defense.

That's good news, hope there's a couple southpaws in the mix.

Nederland will have LOTS of athletes coming in the next 4 years.  There are some really good groups coming through, could be special groups, time will tell.

The Cleveland Indians have tremendous talent mixed throughout all the grades. There best classes are the 7th grade and the 10th grade. They have 8 Sophomores on the Varsity right now, 2 of which were on Varsity last year. Cleveland will be a very good football team for years to come. Cleveland has lost only 1 district game this year on any level. When you mix good athletes and good coaches the sky is the limit.

THE TRIBE HAS ARRIVED!!!!!!!

The Rebels pipeline of talent seems seems to be flowing full force. For a 1A school to have over 55 young men playing on the Varsity and junior varsity is a tremendous help. Players can get a couple of plays off during a varsity game and the younger players are playing JV games and not sitting on the varsity bench. That is a fact that is taken for granted in 2A and above schools, but in 1A it is not.

Many of the sophomores playing for the Rebel varsity this year were players who won a district championship last year and who had an outstanding season not just in wins, but in that all important playing time.

This year the JV is 3 and 1 with all three victories coming against 2A schools. The Rebel JV is made up mostly of freshmen with a few who are sophomores and one junior. They still have games to play and each game gives them more experience and more chances to learn and get better.

The junior high (just one team) is 1 and 1 with two additional scrimage victories. They have some great skill kids and some pretty good size especially in the 7th grade.  The eight grade group will step into many of the skill positions next year on the JV as most of the linemen on the JV are freshmen.

The Rebel football program under Coach Williams is better and getting better each and every year he is here. They have an aggressive weight lifting program that is paying dividends in Power Lifting Meets and on the football field. The track program continues to funnel players with increasing speed off the track and onto the field. All the cogs are working together to improve the program and continue to help the kids get better.

For BH the 9th through 7th Grade look pretty solid with a promising group!! Even the peewee leauges beneath them are winning playing 5A areas and following the concepts of the Varsity play book!! BH started a leage about 3 years ago called "TIFI" that has kids from the 3rd grade to the 6th grade playing tougher competition using the varsity play book. This leage is getting better each year after getting killed by these bigger area's. This will only make BH stronger! this years 8th graders were the first to enter the program ,so I can't wait for the next couple of years to see what happens!!

It's weird over at PN-G historically the middle school teams aren't very good but when they combine and learn the system they seem to get better with time.

You are correct. But the current Freshman and Sophomore groups were actually very good in middle school as well. The JV is undefeated and there are four or five Sophomores currently on Varsity. The 9th grade has done well, just not sure what the current record is. Given some direction (and imagination  ::)) they could have a big impact in 4A the next few seasons. After that I am not too sure. The current middle school teams have not faired so well as of this year.

Current Varsity group has quite a few Juniors in key positions doing quite well (Harmon-FB, DeRon-WR, Segura-WR) plus the defense is young.

The peeWee group has a few....Just kidding  ;D

You never can tell until they play on Friday Night!

Bad news folks, been watching the WO-S 10-12 year olds and they are bad to the bone.  There is no end in sight to the talent pipeline.  These guys look like miniature Mustangs, same helmets, same plays and also bloodlines.  If you're a Mustang fan the future looks bright, If you are not, be somewhere else.
