How Many Pitchers Does it take to get through District and Playoffs?????

Recommended Posts

I agree with Beaumont...  You can have two but by the end of the season they are pretty worked over.  Playoffs get tough.  Three is good and four is even better.  I also think the variety of 'studs' is necessary.  I think you need hard throwers, finesse throwers, and at least one that can do it all.

This sounds like a question that would be asked by pitcher number five's dad.

If some teams try to get pitchers four and five too much work in district, you might not make it to the playoffs.  If it takes your best two or three to get you there, that is what you have to do.  Four and five can throw a few innings here and there when the situation calls for it.

I agree with that comment.  Just because the pitcher may be four or five don't mean that they can't do the job when necessary.  Being around the game enough, sometimes when the 1,2, or even 3 have been seen enough by the older players of the other teams then the most effective can sometimes be the other pitchers.  IMO

Playoffs may be a different matter tho.
