I talked to Grant's dad. He said Grant won the 1st set and it was 6-2. Not sure what the score was after that, I was trying to listen, but my wife was talking to me at the same time.    I think he said Grant was up 2-1 in the 2nd set, but it was all Deaver after that.

Yeah, either Deaver was starting out slow or the competition is a little better this year. Deaver played Scott Carnley in the semis and the first set was 6-4, then Deaver rolled to a 6-0 second set.

Shelby Cato & Rustie Delome from Buna (2A) took second place here at the Lamar tournament. They battled with some big schools and did great!
