FINAL — Woodville 20 at Buna 29 — Discussion

I have two questions. 
 

A). You honestly thing a coach would intentionally “sink their ship”,  Why? He’s job depends on winning. 
 

 

because Orangefield plays both teams, how does Woodville come out scoring then gives up 14 points at the end of the game. ??  Defense got tired or Buna got stronger

What exactly did I say? Cause I never said coach Rob ruined Woodville. And if you saw the game yesterday you would know Woodville had more than enough talent to beat Buna easily

A. He has other things that are more important than winning to him. Doesn't mind winning. Just wants it to look a certain way. The people in power don't really care obviously so his job is secure

B. Woodville is more run heavy this year as we should be. But we're lining up in shotgun yet running it strait up the middle the majority of the time. Makes no sense to me at all. We probably get stuffed in the backfield more times than not. But we have a little fast RB that'll break for a big one every now and then. Defensively Buna moved the ball pretty consistently throughout the game but we mostly stopped the big plays except for the last score. Early they were moving it then we'd force a turnover. Later they managed two possessions moving it consistently with no turnovers till they made it to the end zone. The last score was a big 60 yard run around the edge. Our defense looks decent but not elite. Our offense is going to have to score more by moving the ball more consistently. I don't think we'll do that by running the ball strait up the middle out of the shot gun. No extra backs in the backfield for fake handoffs, misdirection or nothing. Just sending a 130 pounder strait up the middle out of the shotgun

Wrong but I guess that's a decent theory to come up with if you refuse to realize the fact that coaching is the main problem

Give me your name.  I will create you a nice resume using Ai.  Then you can apply when and if the job opens.  You seem to know all that is wrong and have all the answers.

Our secondary had 4 picks!  We made plays when we had to, then kept pounding the rock!  Thats the glory of the Shot-T, small gains turn into bigger gains later.

So my question is are the eagles running zone, trap, power, counter, dive....just what is the play up the middle? I'm willing to bet you don't even know!! Some real football knowledge you possess. I am willing to bet that you don't even know how to draw up a play. What was Buna's defense? There's only one gap outside and 3 more inside...so the "up the middle" makes you appear really ignor@ant, which you are and I hope you never go to another game....with fans like you, the eagles don't need enemies.

Ok you quoted the wrong comment originally. I dont have to know exactly what type of play theyre "attempting" to run. I know they're running it right up the middle out of the shotgun and it's not resulting in positive yards consistently because the defense is getting in the backfield before the handoff. Runs up the middle typically work more consistently when the quarterback lines up under the center and the rb allready has a head of steam going downhill when the handoff is happening. Less time between the snap and the hand off means less time for the defense to react. Shotgun spread formations are supposed to be used to get your playmakers in the open field via the pass, screen pass, speed options and things of that sort. You should only run up the middle every now and then to keep the defense honest out of a spread formation. You shouldn't be running up the middle the majority of the time out of the spread formation. Both games it has worked in the beginning, maybe because it catches the defense off guard but then it doesn't work as well further into the game

Months ago when you referenced the Woodville Youth Football League as doing a better job coaching up these kids and bashing the current staff.
