C.O. Wilson for sure.  8th grade was undefeated this year and the group behind them will do the same.  Don't count out CMS, Nederland has some great athletes.

As far as BC, this group is not that strong.  The group ahead of them are very strong.

I wouldn't be underdawging these young cards in thier athletics program they are bustin thier buts every day in athletics. And wile other schools are sitting on thier tails doing nothing they are getting a stronger program.Trust me those 8th grade coches know how to turn a football team around. And man what are you talking about you have to be a power house to beat all the teams they beat, they were the smallest team in thier district, every other team had size advantage against them thats saying something.

Exactly what BIG teams did the BC 7th graders beat this year?  What was their record?  I hope your 7th graders can do as well as the 8th graders.  They were undefeated for 2 years from what I hear.  They have some power houses in that 8th grade group.  Big shoes to fill.

Nederland has a strong athletic program and always does, year after year.  C.O. is always good.  No doubt about it.  C.O. all the way.

They went 5 and 4 in district.K let me see lets start with every game they lost was at least by 2 or 3 td"s.And let me add this have you ever watched bridge citys 7th this year?Well lets talk about other teams sizes that they lost against,HAMSHIRE FANNET they had a running back that was bigger than any bridge city player and they had a pertty big linebacker core,WEST ORANGE-STARK they just beat bridge city in size all around, had a running back that was 6"2 and linemen were over rated.K-VILLE was a good offense and a solid defense cant beat that mixture.

I did not see BC's 7th or 8th graders play this year.  I have a son that played against BC when they were younger.  I remember those young men, but the ones that stand out were the 8th graders.

Personally, I am not so sure if size or heart is the most important quality in football?  Believing you can beat any team is half the battle most of the time.  I hope your small 7th  graders grow to be able to compete with the larger opponents in your district, if that is reason they lost to those BIG teams.  I wish BC all the best.

Hopefully they can build a winning tradition like Nederland has.

By looking at this poll looks like BC 7th grade has been working very hard and will probaly be the best team in SETX next year

In both sports BC is dominating right now in basketball and looks to come back and get a V againts rival Orangefield

This is an very exicting group to watch including the 8th grade who has only lost one game in both sports.[color=red

Alrighty Now!!!

First off, I am new to this site (joined last week) and I am surprised at some of the stuff people post on here. The one good thing is I have not seen an "individual" talk trash/attack another "individual", but more just talking about a team in general. I hope, if you are an "adult" on this site and not one of the kids, that we could refrain from talking negative about any individual. I didn't really see any of this on particular posting but in other categories on this site it get pretty heated!!

Secondly, as you can tell from the user name, icon & if you watched any H-F 7th grade football this season, you will figure out that #35 is the running back, line backer & my son that everyone is referring too on this posting.

I had NO idea that Andrew was being mentioned on setxsports until last week, and I was looking/reading about something totally different and then found the "jr. high sports" section and read a posting where he was mentioned, and I was totally surprised.

As a parent I really appreciate the good comments that people have made about Andrew, and any of you that know him personally, knows that he works pretty hard to get to where he is at.

Lastly, I am a tad bit partial, but H-F 7th grade now, which will be 8th grade next year, should do nothing but get better. The talk around H-F is that this "group/team" is one of the best that H-F has seen in a long while.

This year they were "Co-District Champs" in football, "District Champs" in Basketball and they have a very good chance of winning district in track.

They have a great group of athletes and I hope they can carry this winning tradition on for years to come!!

Thanks to all & good luck!

    • Starting pitching has been shaky the last few weeks due to some injuries outside of Hagen Smith.  He goes tomorrow, so y’all should be fine
    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!
    • See why I don't trust my Hogs?
    • Come on dude, don’t take anything away from the kids on the field. If you want to talk uncharacteristic, we made what 3 or 4 errors in game one. Y’all had 2 EARNED runs.  Defense is normally our strong suit. Your ace didn’t strike out a single one of our kids. Like I said also, you did not out hit us in game 1. Hell you barley out hit us in game 2. We had all the uncharacteristic walks. Josh pitched a hell of a game is what made that game what it was.
