The best gun control measure for Democrats & liberals in general would be to not allow Democrats/liberals to carry. They seem to want to open fire on anybody & anything nowadays. Maybe that would put them above water on that poll question. Sure would make me feel safer. Suckers can't aim for squat.

Gun control is certainly a hot topic.

Are the people in favor of more or even extreme gun control tipping their hand by going after laws that would have little if any impact in firearms safety or homicide rates? Is it rationally based measures or simply a way of using emotions to eventually completely ban private ownership while (falsely) claiming to respect the Second Amendment?

If a person is against all private ownership, that’s okay. A person is entitled to his opinion. Why not come out and call for all firearms to be confiscated instead of using “sensible” gun laws?

The answer likely lies in the fact that to let the cat out of the bag would make it difficult to achieve their goals. So the agenda is hidden.
