OlDawg Posted 9 hours ago Report Posted 9 hours ago The Falcons are kind of a shell of past glory years. Hopefully the new coach can get them turned around again. That's a great offensive explosion for the first game ether way. Impressive win Wildcats! Quote

Despite the score, I did see some evidence that Clear Lake was well coached. An example: In the first half the they had a high snap to the punter which rolled all the way to their 10 yard line. With Wildcats all around him, the punter intentionally kicked the ball out of the back of the end zone which resulted in a safety but almost certainly prevented a Wildcat TD. I was a little surprised after they got hopelessly behind in the 1st half that they didn't agree to a running clock in the second. I think that the reason is that their coach thought they would learn more using the regular clock. They never seemed to give up. They tried everything including a flea flicker and a sqib kick on the kickoff. If I had to pick an MVP for Angleton, it would be WR Kaleb Jammer, who was the leading receiver in non district last year, but missed the entire district season with an injury. It looks like if he can stay healthy, he will be a big factor for Angleton. Quote
