Can someone explain 3-way tie-breakers?

There seem to be many area teams that could end the season in a 3-way tie forcing one out of the playoffs.  I read that you go by point differential with the three teams in contention.  Is the maximum 16, 17 or 18?  I've read all three.  What would be next after that?  District games PF-PA, maybe?  Is there a UIL website with the rules posted.  Can someone help me out, please?  Thanks.

There is no set rule for tie-breakers, the UIL leaves it up to each District to decide.  Most districts will either use an 18 or 15 point cap to determine margin of victory.  They also have to determine how they are going to seed for playoffs based on ties for district record.  Either you eliminate the big school rep and go head to head or you use the point differential to determine seeding.  The most sense makes to eliminate the big school rep and then go head to head, but it depends on each district.
