::) we will just have to see, if KOUNTZE will play like I know they can LOOKOUT.

                                           EC

                                           BUNA

                                           KOUNTZE or HARDIN

It would be foolish to rule out the Lions completely.

Ask the Cougars if they were expecting the Kountze team they met Friday night.

The Lions have realized a pride and a confidence that everyone denied them early in the season. The players and coaches knew their ability when they first stepped on the practice field this year. The fans soon caught on and have been coming out in droves this year.

Now the rest of the area is getting a good look at what hard work and "heart" work will do for a team.

Kountze isn't just a basketball school. We're a school with athletes who have character and drive and dedication to doing their very best with every snap of the ball.

They proved that once again Friday night. They'll prove it again.

After an open week, Kountze has road trips to Hardin and Deweyville and host EC for their final home game of the year on Nov. 2. It won't be an easy road for the Lions. Guess what? We're used to "not easy" and we're still 5-2 this season.

Kountze won't be able to stop hardin offense......just plain and simple......anahuac is a rivarly game for hardin so those games are always good...but hardin was dominating and then anahuac got 3 straight onside kicks and that made it 4 total in the 2nd half it was just one of those games.....if hardin would have kept there ones in it would have been 48-20 with about 1 min remaning becasue anahuac couldn't stop them.......Buna better get ready because I feel like ole larry haynes will have something for them.......and it seems like when hardin needs to step up and make a statement they do......they might not win this week but they will be in the playoffs.....

kountze wont be able to stop the offense??? are you nuts??        ??? they said thatkountze couldnt stop buna's offense too though who was averging about 500+ yards a game who got held to 55 in the first half.. Kountze will have a good gameplan for hardin.. what hardin needs to do is focus on this week and quit worrying about next week...

Like I mentioned on another thread about the 4A schools, this district is also one of those races which makes it exciting for everyone.  My money is on EC to win out but they will get a test from Hardin and possibly Buna.  Kountze may be a spoiler but I doubt it.  In my heart, it is Nov. 9 in Winnie:  EC vs Hardin for the championship.

Like the old beer commercial: "It just doesn't get any better than this!"

Yeah Buna does run alot but the passing game is progressing.  The 1st touchdown Buna put up against kountze was a pass.  As far as the pass defense, Buna's #7 Blanton Craft i belive is 1st in the state for interceptions.  He is fast, quick, and has a 30+ vertical.  Bunas secondary i belive will hold Hardins passin game.

    • What the writer stated wrt crossover votes in the primary/runoff: "Covey and his supporters Paxton and Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick said Phelan only won because Democrats crossed over to vote in the Republican Primary for him. Paxton said Covey’s campaign identified “at least” 1,442 Democrats who voted early in Jefferson County in the primary runoff. The Covey campaign has not released its methodology behind its claim, but  This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up  by The Texan news website found that 9% of Republican voters in the March District 21 primary had voted in one of the previous four Democratic primaries. However, only 5% of that group had voted in all four previous Democratic primaries. What Phelan’s opponents did not mention is historically Democratic Jefferson County is undergoing a political transition towards the Republican party — the county judge switched his affiliation to the GOP in 2017 — so many residents have a mixed primary voting history.
